"UNCLE AUGUST!!!" Kayden screamed. I groaned, throwing my sheets over my head. "Uncle August!" She called, snatching the sheets off my head & shook me.

"KayKay, not ta'day." I told her.

"But Uncle August....I can't find my coat." I just sighed & got up.

"A'ight c'mon.."

I'm still adjusting to the whole parenting thing. After Chandra passed, the girls took it pretty hard. I mean, she was their only other parent. But I think I took it worse. Chandra was my sister, my bestfriend....first I lost my brother, now her? I'm trynna be strong for the girls, but I know they can see that I'm struggling.

"Hea'." I said, handing Kayden her coat that I just got from the car. Then I heard the bus coming. "Chaylin! Amaiya! Da' bus hea'."

"Bye Uncle August!" They yelled, running out the door.

"Be good!" I yelled back. I looked down at Kayden, who was smiling at me. "C'mon 'fo ya' late." I grabbed my car keys & we left out the door.

"Ya' a'ight, Uncle August?" Kayden asked as we got in the car. I ain't say nothing. "Is it bout mommy? She in'a betta' place na'." Then she sighed. "I'm sad too. It's a'ight ta' talk bout it..." I smiled to myself as I pulled out the garage. She was always the strong one.

"I really do. Afta' ya' daddy passed, she was dere fa' me. Jus like I was fa' ha'. It jus don't feel right dat she gon."

"Yeah..." She sighed & looked out the window.

END OF FLASHBACK

"WUZ HAP'NIN!!!" Odell yelled, walking in with his three kids.

"Cornelious!" Dominique spat. "What I tell you about coming over here unannounced?" He shrugged.

"Ask ya' boy." She narrowed her eyes at him. I just chuckled. She looked over by the door, then back at him.

"Where's my baby mama at?" She folded her arms. He chuckled.

"Ya' kno ha' ass always workin'." He shook his head. She smiled.

"That's right cause she gotta make us that CHECK!" Everyone laughed.

"Y'all niggas gon' lemme finish?" I told 'em.

"Whatcha tal'm bout?" He asked.

"When they met, how and why they got married, why daddy hated her, how they had us, and all that good stuff." Braeleigh smiled. "And yes I know." She said before he could ask. We told her I wasn't her biological father when she was 8. She was mad when we told her, but then again she ain't care to find or meet her deadbeat.....atleast that's what Dominique calls the nigga.

"Da' whole story?" He gulped, looking over at his son. "I ain't sure y'all want ta' kno' allat."

"They might as well know the truth, especially one of my top five best nights in all my life." Niq winked at him.

"Niq.." I huffed. She looked at me.

"You know I love you baby." She kissed my lips softly. "Continue..." I cleared my throat.

I Promise I Ain't What These Other Niggas On
Not Trynna Gas You Up And Tell You What You Wanna Hear
Girl, I'm Just Trynna Ride The Wave That You Be On
Girl, Ain't You Tired Of Playing? Bring That Body Over Here
Lemme Show You What You Missing
Cover You With Kisses
Turn You To My Mrs
And Try Every Position
I Swear It Don't Get No Better
With Me And You Together
Girl, I Love It
Hope It Feels Like This Forever And A Day "

Been in the studio since I dropped Kayden off at school. I ain't gone lie, been feenin' for some love. Forever love, til death do us part type of love. I write & write. I write til my hand cramp, then I record til my voice go out. I thought I found my forever woman, but that bitch was just with me cause of who I am. Nobody can be trusted because they either want you for your money or for clout. So that's why I've been in the studio everyday for the past couple months. A lot has been on my mind & I gotta let it out.

" Do You Think In The Morning
We Gon Feel The Same As Yesterday
Or Even After Tomorrow
Hope It Feels Like This Forever And A Day "

I looked up to Miracle sitting at the sound table. She was smiling. I took the headset off & walked out the booth.

"Don't tell me, you're in another one of your moods again?" She asked. I just sighed.

"Whatchu doin' hea'? I'm busy." I told her.

"Just coming to check on you." She said, trynna pull me into a hug. "I heard about your sister." I just stepped back & shook my head.

"I'm gud."

"It sure doesn't sound like it."

"Miracle I'M GUD!" I spat.

"Okay, sorry." She jumped. "I'll just call you later then." She grabbed her purse to leave. I groaned.

"Aye I'm sorry." I stopped her. "We'a talk latta'." She just smiled & left. I looked over at the engineer & he looked the other way.
