In the light of the moon..

All alone

From my curtain slit I spy
And notice how the moon
bewitches the night sky
And under his beauty
No creature is spared
In his captivity
Even the finest are caught unprepared

On its ribbon like shine
Dance creatures of the Unknown
And with his nose up in the Air
The planetoid believes the night is his own
The magic of his light
Could be a boon or a bane
It could bring unspeakable burdens
Or call out for Champagne

On nights crystal clear
Writers write million dollar books
After searching for ideas
In every corner and nook
So it's natural that
Those awake to steal from moon's beauty
Are smarter than the ones
Who catch the worm early

But despite being waken
For hours at a stretch
I'm not quite the one
Success would go out to fetch
Unknown thoughts
Keep me awake for long
Even though the peculiar night world
Doesn't feel like somewhere I'd belong

The ghosts of my past
Rise to faculty
And take shelter in
My feelings of agony
Some nights are spent
Reminiscing the past
Making me feel
A little forsaken or aghast

But whenever I feel lonely
In a world full of humanity
I stare up at my ceiling
Searching for lost sanity
Subsequently, the moon,
Catches my eye
All of a sudden
My tears go dry
Then I'm not lonely, it's true
Because someone, somewhere
Is lost in its gaze too...
