Narrator: Jughead:

'I think many of us, maybe the entire town, had been hoping against hope that somehow... Jason Blossom hadn't drowned on July 4th; That we'd come to school Monday morning, and there Jason would be. Or that we'd see him and Cheryl in a booth at Pop's.

But that was before the undeniable, irrevocable fact of his bloated, water-logged body, a corpse with a bullet hole in its forehead, and terrible secrets that could only be revealed by the cold, steel blade of a coroner's autopsy scalpel, or the telltale beating of a guilty heart.'

Jughead and I walked to school in silence, I didn't know what to even talk about, to be honest. We always left early so we didn't have to walk fast, we were lazy people at times to be fair.

Jughead and I were walking down the hallway, he went up to Archie and I did too "Hi," Jughead said to Archie, Archie then turns around and looks at Jughead and I.

"Do you think I can use Jason Blossom's death as an excuse to get out of PE? "Sorry, Coach, I'm just too depressed and freaked-out right now to do pull-ups." Jughead said to him faking his upset with sarcasm, I just shook my head.

"Don't joke about Jason Blossom," Archie says quietly as he looks around the hallway.

"What? Sardonic humor is just my way of relating to the world," Jughead then scoffs and rolls his eyes "Look, it's the rich kids from The Goonies... All right, I'm out." He then walks around and I gasped for air for a moment.

"bye Archie." I smiled and he looked at me in concern.

"you alright?" He asks as I fiddle with the tank.

"I'm okay." I sigh and I walked off.

I sat in the student lounge with the others, Reggie and his mates were throwing a football around and they started talking to Kevin about Moose. Jughead and I were watching them for some reason.

I glanced over to Archie as he put a dollar bill in the vending machine, it wasn't going through. I snickered as I walked over to him and leaned on the vending machine.

Archie looks at me with a grin and shoved me playfully, "put it in like that." I whispered and then I tuned into Reggie talking.

"I mean, let's think about it, If a kid at Riverdale killed Jason, it's not gonna be a jock, right? No, let's be honest. Isn't it always some spooky, scrawny, pathetic Internet troll, too busy writing his manifestos to get laid? Some smug, moody, serial killer fanboy freak, like Jughead?"

My head shot up from the dollar bill and watched Reggie with his mates laugh.

"What was it like, Suicide Squad? When you shot Jason? You didn't do stuff to the body, did you? Like After?" I looked at Jughead and he crosses his arms and sighs, facing Reggie.

"It's called necrophilia, Reggie, can you spell it?" I tried not to laugh at him.

"Come here, you little!-" Reggie jumps over the counter and Archie turns around from the vending machine and pushes me softly behind him as he shoved Reggie in the chest.
