Prologue

For as long as any one can remember, this is how it's been.  Four levels on the bottom, serving the higher ups; who are serving the Lords and Ladies of the Land.  This is just how it's been, without any question. 

At the very bottom, of the very bottom were the Untouchables.  From the name, you can assume that they aren't touched.  Why no one touches them?  No one remembers, it's just the way it's always been.  Above The Untouchables, is The  Healers, they have created thousands of remedies and medicines.  They keep every tonic, pill, and syrup they came up with in a big book that keeps getting bigger the more unusual aliments people will end up catching.  These people have become the smartest, and creative thinking; The Healers are the only level that communicates with everyone else.  Next level up is Fire Makers.  They do more than just make fire, they work with fire.  No one else can touch it except them, from the legends We've been told, they created fire from a burning passion they had in their hearts.  After The Fire Makers are the Peace Keepers, they get to work with the higher ups.  But they are still apart of the common people, they are a fit type of people who are level headed and patient through times of troubles.  These are qualities that they have learned over hundreds of years; it's become apart of their DNA.  These four levels make up the common people, the ones who have it the worst.  The people that the Higher ups watch like a hawk, waiting for them to mess up because they have nothing better to do than sit around and eat grapes in their big, bright, high up houses.   

The Higher ups have always been perceived as gods to The Common People, they had one job, and that was to serve them.  They are snobbish and think they're better than they really are.  To the Common People, they act like they are the Kings and Queens of the world.  But when it comes to the Lords and Ladies above them, they quiver in their presence like a coward.  When it really comes down it to, they fake a strong, sturdy, presence to the lower levels; make them feel so much powerful than they really are.  The have no actual power.  Unlike the levels below them, and the people above them, they are incompetent and weak. No one really knows the exact purpose of them but it's just the way it's always been.

The Lords and Ladies are the ones in charge of virtually everything that happens here.  They have powers beyond anything else in this world.  To The Common People, they're just legends.  Folklore or bedtime stories to tell children to give them hope, they don't actually believe in them.  But the higher ups use the Lords and Ladies as a scare tactic to get their children to do what they were told.  No one knows exactly what they do, but rumor has it they make everyone and everything the way it is.  Some say they can see the future, others say they can see what's happening down in the Common Levels.  Whatever they do, they're powerful enough to strike fear into the hearts to the Higher Ups.  People don't know where the legends or fear come from, but it's just the way it's always been.
