It was late at night, (Y/n) offered to stay late since she didn't really need to be anywhere. (Y/n) was just wiping the counter when she hears the familiar chime of the store closing down. (Y/n) smiles as she takes off her apron and hangs it up in her locker in the back.

Grabbing her coat she checks her watch to see it says to be raining outside now. Sighing she grabs her umbrella. (Y/n) didn't hate the rain, in fact, she loved it! However, walking next to the road still bothers her because the rain can blind the driver if it's too much and the next thing you know there is a hovercub crash.

Walking up to the front doors (Y/n) flashes her wrist to the ID scanner. A green ray scans the chip in her wrist and unlocks the door for her.

"Have a nice night (Y/n)." An android voice calls out from the whole store.

"You too Sally" (Y/n) pats the side of the wall and walks outside.

True to the weather readings it is in fact raining. Deploying (Y/n)'s umbrella in the air she walks out and starts her trek home. The umbrella hovers above tracking her movements.

The rain was thankfully light, making soft pitter patters on the surfaces of the umbrella. (Y/n) walked with a skip in her step, a hum in her breath. Looking around there was barely anyone outside on this cold night. A few hovercubs pass by now and then but mostly a relaxing night.

Looking up from her umbrella (Y/n) looks to the sky. Work buildings are apartments stacking far into the sky. The clouds covering the starry night sky, but the glow of the moon still present through the fluffy barrier.

Looking back in front of her (Y/n) continues walking along, that was until she noticed an unusual purple hue coming from one of the slim alleyways. Curious, (Y/n) slows down to a stop once she was adjacent to the cramped corridor.

A shiver run downs (Y/n)'s whole being. A wave of power washes over (Y/n), her umbrella losing connection and falling down, a tingling in her ID chip. A few lights in the surrounding area flicker.

In front of (Y/n) was a girl in a pile of trash bags. Her purple hair with knots and dirt, sprayed everywhere, her face seemed peaceful however there were bruises and cuts up and down her being, a oversized black trench coat was wrapped around her, blocking everything else to be seen.

(Y/n) sucked in a breath through her teeth. She didn't know what to do. Should she call the police? How would she explains how she found the young girl? Should she just leave the girl? Without much thought, (Y/n) sprinted to the poor person.

Carefully, (Y/n) wrapped her arms on the girl's upper back and the back of her knees. Gingerly (Y/n) lifted up the stranger. Surprisingly, yet worryingly, she was incredibly light. (Y/n) wondered idly if this was the correct action to be doing, however, it just felt right. Besides, she has a bad feeling if she left the girl to someone else.

(Y/n) flicked her wrist to her umbrella, summoning it again. The object bounced back to life and hovered above her. (Y/n) began her trek home yet again, however will a new weight on her physically,

and mentally.
