August 20th was by far NOT one of my favorite days. I dont even know why I let Stefan talk me into going back to high school. I've graduated at least 3 times in my years. I shook my head and finished my the last of my mascara. I checked my outfit in the mirror, pulling up my fishnets and brushing off my black skirt. I added a thick choker that somewhat matched my Nightmare Before Christmas shirt. I braided my silver hair back and grabbed my backpack and keys.

Stefan had decided to walk to school, which made me adjust the sunlight ring on my finger. That was one of the only downsides about being a vampire, besides the Vervain. I made my way to my car. A 1950 Cadillac Convertible, which was a basic red color. Not very inconspicuous, but what can I say? I stand out.

I blasted The Beatles and sped off towards Mystic Falls High School. I loved the feeling of sun on my skin, hair blowing in the breeze, music all around me. This was the side of me I didnt let anyone see, even my own brother. Sure, it causes everyone to think I am a bitch but what's the harm? If I do good, people expect good, and that's pretty pointless when I comes to me.

I pulled fast into the school parking lot and smiled as I noticed heads turn. Their mouths turned gaping when I actually got out of the car. A sauntered past kids and made my way to my first class: History. Stefan greeted me at the door and took a seat by my side. I pulled out a notebook and pen, and began doodling on the front cover of my notebook.

I heard hushed giggling from the back of the classroom and before I could wonder what is was at, a blonde girl walked over to me. "Hi," she said. I noted that she had a very perky voice. "You must be new. I'm Caroline." She smiled at me.

I smirked. "My name is Destiny. Nice to meet you."

"I just wanted to let you know that if you need anything, me and my friends are always available." Her eyes quickly looked behind me and I felt someone sit at the desk beside me. Caroline smiled again and walked back to her desk.

Stefan looked at me, concealed laughter behind his eyes. "Well sister, looks like you've got a crowd."

I rolled my eyes. "Dont I always." And I began doodling again.

The bell rang one final time before class began. The teacher walked into the room and the girl who had sat by my side passed me a folded up peice of paper.

I didnt peg you as a doodler

I looked up, confused. Why was this random girl talking to me? I thought I had a pretty non-approachable vibe. Part of me wanted to crumple up the paper and throw it away but the other half- the more potent half- told me to talk to her.

Oh... um. Really? And also I dont think I know you...

It went on like this almost all class... I didn't even know what the teacher was saying.

My name is Amirah. And yeah, you kind of have the "bad girl" vibe going on... it's cool.

Well thanks I guess. You got a last name? And my name is Destiny.

Yeah, my last name is Gilbert. What's yours?

That doesnt matter

Well if that wasnt cryptic I don't know what is. You some kind of famous drug dealer lol?

I just dont tell people a lot about me.

I felt bad for getting short with her. But if she really was a Gilbert, I couldn't be talking to her.

That makes sense.

The bell rang and she wrote down her number on another peice of paper and handed it to me. I almost had a heart attack when a girl who looked just like Katherine Peirce met Amirah at the door and walked away.
