My World Adventure Begins

Ready to Escape

I sit in my room listening to the music I've had on repeat for several days. I sit up and look over to my blank canvas, another day without inspiration. I hear footsteps coming toward my room and I look to the door, it was my mom.

 "How are you feeling today hun?"

"Same as everyday," I gave a little smile, "Just bored." She mover over to me and gave me a side hug.

"Well dinner is ready, come down to eat something." I nodded my head and she left. I didnt realize how late it had gotten. The small town we occupy is Willow Creek. You could walk through the whole town and know everyone you pass. I wanted to leave the small town and look around the world, see what I've missed for nineteen years of my life. 

Downstairs sat my mom and little brother, Damien. He's only 12. I sit across from him and beside my mom. On the dinner table sat a pot of ramen. I grab a bowl and put some noodles in it.

"So, I think I want to move out," My mom looks up at me in shock.

"Really, where will you go?" She had a sad tone.

"I'm not sure." I slightly paused before continuing, "Around the world!" I gave a bright smile at my own idea. 

"This place is my home but I want to explore more, more of everywhere I can!" She looked at me with sadness but yet hopeful.

"Where will you get the money for it, how will you do it?" I was questioned.

"There are plenty of cars in the junkyard. I can find one that's not completely broken and fix it up! The I can drive everywhere!" She gave a little sigh.

"If you can supply the money I'll have no objections." She gave me a small smile. I looked at my brother who was listening to the whole conversation.

"Follow me!" We got up from the table and traveled to my room. "Now, I want you to take something," I walked over to my dresser and opened the first drawer and pulled out a little charm. "It's something I've been saving for you if I ever left, please take it." I put it in his hands. The charm had a small blue diamond in the middle surrounded by happy faces. 

"Thank you, Evelyn."

We talk for a little bit about my plans then he leaves my room. I drag out my vintage suitcase and put some needs into it. All I need to do is go to the junkyard and find a car! I say my goodnights to everyone and go to my room and into my sheets. Tomorrow the start of something new begins!
