It's the beginning of term one , first year of being a senior. As I walked off the bus the warm summer breeze hit my face , breathing in the aroma of fresh cut grass and sweet warm smell of the wildflowers. I snapped back into reality as students rushed by me laughing and catching up on summer gossip. Walking down the same run down hallways as last year , the distinct chatter of students fills my ears. Drowning out the noise I walk up to my locker and exchange my books for the coming classes. I met my best friends at their lockers, we exchange hugs and gossip of the summer. I look around the room at the people I share classes with when my eyes locked on him. I had turned around going back to the conversations with my friends. Him and his friends had approached our friend group I focused in on him, until he had locked eyes with me. The conversations we had were light but were longer awkward as they were the year prior. The dismissal bell rang signaling for us to get to our first class.

The day had already gone by quickly and it was lunch. We had walked to the usual lunch meet up, and had ordered. We had sat down and started to conversate, at the corner of my eye I saw him and his friends approach our table. He had sat down beside me and began to join our groups conversations. My mind had been running wild with thoughts until it was time to go back to school. Fourth period had came around and it was time for guitar class. I opened the door to the dimly lit class with dark black curtains hung from the ceiling. Stepping down the stairs my eyes skimmed around the room, they meet his. I briefly smiled to myself knowing this was going to be a good term.

Three months later I had come to terms with myself that I was not made for heartbreak anymore. Single life it was for me, I felt like myself in a way. Until I wasn't ,struggling with many personal battles I had began to decline in many things and in a way had given up on myself that was until he came along.
