*Audrey's POV*
I laughed and ran on the warm pavement with my barefeet, my long brown hair whipping around in the gentle, summer breeze. I looked back, and saw Zach running after me, getting closer. I cut through a yard, my barefeet squishing in the wet grass. Suddenly, the sprinklers came on. I screamed as Zach caught up with me, and scooped me up. He ran through the sprinklers, and spinned around. I laughed loudly, and kicked my legs around, screaming "Stop!"
"Why should I?" He teased and started to run, while I continued to scream, kick and laugh. He had a small pond in his backyard and he held me over it.
"NO! DON'T" I screamed. He started to set me down, but somehow we tripped and ended up in the pond. He looked at me, scared I would be mad at him.
I burst out laughing and he joined in seconds later. "Your my best friend, Zach." I breathed.
He smiled and pulled me into his lap. "Your my best friend, Audrey." He said and rested his chin on my shoulder.
"Zach! Come inside! I need to talk go you!" His mother yelled from the back door. He shrugged and started to get up. "M'kay, see you Zach." I said while we gave each other a bear hug.
"Call you later." He said and went inside. I jumped over a few fences and was home. I went through back door and got changed into some dry clothes then plopped down on the couch. I turned on a random show and started to watch.
I dozed off and was awoken an hour later by my phone buzzing. I rubbed my eyes and answered. "Hello?" I said in a groggy voice.
"Audrey?" Zach said. His voice was full of sadness. I immediately sat up. "Zach, are you alright?" I asked. "Meet me at the park." He said before hanging up.
I hopped on my bike and rode as fast I could to the park. I saw Zach sitting on one of the swings, his head down.
I ran over to him and sat down in front of him. I pulled him so he sat across from me.
"What's wrong Zach?" I asked. He looked up at me. "I'm moving to California." He sighed.
