A story of college freshman Shishio Nakama, desperate to hook up with quiet girl Utami Inaba. When he builds up the courage, things go pear-shaped and he finds himself in a mad dash to gain her love before anyone beats him to the punch!... Hopefully...
Everything's black... What time is it supposed to be?
I uncover myself and emerge from the duvet.
5:58am
Looks like a perfect fit for an extra 2 minutes rest. Every little-
*BLEEP BLEEP*
The hell? I swear time fast forwards overnight... Either that or the clocks actually read in minutes and seconds... Well, if I die to exhaustion, that's eternal rest. Sounds like a win-win to me.
I open the blinds, with the sunlight doing the same thing against my eyes. Can't the damn thing blow up like the scientists say it will? It's going to make me blind in later life, no doubt about that...
My name is Shishio Nakama, student of Chuo no Hajiko, albeit only for a month now. I've recently moved into college, but the ridding my hands from past bastards didn't balance with the torture I've been forcibly thrown into now. Feels like each stage in life is a downgrade. Apparently jellyfish can be reborn as children again. Why can't we just inject ourselves with some of their DNA or something? We make all the most pointless crap, but no solutions to anyone's issues...
I've lived pretty much all my life with my mother in our small apartment. Well, "pretty much" means what's apparently worth remembering. Why don't I remember life as a baby, anyway? Not that it matters, I don't want to recall some life of drooling and crawling. Maybe life has been an upgrade then, depending on how you look at it...

Life might not only be spent between me and my mother anymore though. Past few months, I've seen her web history about planning some adoption. I'm not a creep for that, just that wisdom costs dignity.
I'm no loner at school. Thankfully, I lost most of the assholes in the transition, but I've still got my two, questionably faithful friends alongside me. We rarely see each other in lessons nowadays, all pursuing separate goals. I'm studying to become an astronomer, so I'm stuck with the mind-fuckery of quantum whatevers. Mother insists it'll pay off, but will anyone hire someone whose lost 80% of their brain cells in their late teens?
"'Ey Shishio! Not much further!" Yelled Ebizu, waiting at the entry gates.
Bastard knows I hate walking. Being a friend and all, you'd think he'd have given me at least one piggy back by now.
