the pond

the pond Part 1

It was just a normal morning for me. I woke up and pushed my dark brown hair out of my face. I got out of bed and walked to the mirror. What I saw was a monster, I looked like a vampire with how pale I was, my eyes had no color to them, they were a blackish brown. "I just wish I could be someone else." I thought to myself.

"Alex get out of bed!' my mom yelled.

"I'm already awake," I responded in a stern voice

I continue with my normal morning routine, I put on my school uniform, brush my hair and put it in two french braids. I was about to walk out the door when my mother looks at me and says

"You should go outside more you are so freakishly pale"

"If it wasn't for your stupid genetics I wouldn't have looked this way!" I yell.

I run out of the house and walk to school like I always do, past the big house then the small house and past a pond then there's my school. I was about to walk past the pond when I saw an old man sitting on the bench, staring at the pond. He looked at me and said, "I see my son, I see my son!"

I look at him and say "You better get home, I think you're starting to hallucinate"

"no, look and see!" he says

I lean over the pond to see, all I saw was a frog. Then the old man pushed me

"What the heck is wrong with you!" I scream.

I tried to come up for air but I couldn't. I look around me and I see these green sparkles all over the place, they were surrounding me and spinning in circles. I could feel my body changing, something didn't feel right about this. Then I blacked out.

I woke up to see tons of frogs of all colors. There were green ones, brown ones, blue ones and even purple ones. I found it be very strange with how large they were, they were all as tall as me and even louder than before.

"What the heck is going on?" I mumble underneath my breath.

A smaller pink frog hopped over to me and said.

"You must be the new frog in town that everyone is talking about."

"Sorry, what?" I respond in a confused tone

"Master said that you would be coming here soon," she said as if she was programmed to say that.

"By master do you mean that awful old man who pushed me into this world?" I ask angrily.

"He is not that awful, he gave us a home and everything a frog could want."

"Your crazy, you must be brainwashed," I say as I slowly back away from her

"No master helped me find out who I really am," she said with a smile

"What about your family?" I asked

"They don't care!" she said in a voice that sounded demonic.

"What's your name?" I asked in a concerned tone

."My name is Alia." she replied.

I started thinking very hard, Alia I've heard that name before. I was pretty sure that I heard it on the news or read it in the newspaper. Then it hit me.

"You were that girl who went missing last month!" I yelled

"I never went missing I found my real home and my real family." she stated as if she had discovered something that hasn't existed.

"This is not your real home or family, your family is in the normal world and they are scared and worried, they think you're dead. They already had your funeral." I said sympathetically

"See now they really don't care, if they really cared they would've kept looking for me but they just gave up, because they don't care." she snapped

"Ok, whatever. I would like it if I could talk to your so-called master." I said sighing

"Yes, for sure miss!" she said as if I got her an amazing present.

She starts hopping to this large weird lily pad with a huge flower on it. She hops into the flower and yells

"Hurry up, you are the slowest frog I've ever seen"

She continues to go into the flower as I follow. The flower was a pale pink, it was so beautiful that it was almost soothing to look at. It felt like we were walking forever, my knees hurt so bad that I could fall on the ground and cry for hours, honestly I wanted to fall to the ground and cry for hours because being pushed into a pond then turned into a frog is terrifying and traumatic. Finally, we got to the middle of the flower, Alia looks at me and says

"he's been expecting you know" in a clueless tone
