Picture this; there are red, black, and blue bruises under the pads of your feet. This makes every step excruciatingly painful.
Now, imagine that your knees are grinding when they bend.
Each and every joint in your body; acting like un-oiled, rusted gears.
Now, run a marathon. Don't worry about the tears in your eyes, they don't matter right now. Forget about the aching and remember the goal. Remember how much you want this, how much you need this. See your healthy bodied racers choke on your dust.
Wait! Your lungs aren't working properly. It feels like you're drowning with each breath.
No! You're on the ground. Don't worry about it. The Finnish line is so close. Just keep clawing your way.
Stop! Those thoughts can't get to you if you don't let them. You can do this! You will!
Oh! Your heart is slowing down. Only five inches from the big red ribbon. Find the energy, it's in there somewhere!
Just one more! Collapse 2 inches from completion. All of the effort, all the pain, all the motivation means nothing now. They all trample over your unconscious body, and reach a goal that is unachievable to you.
Listen! Listen to them cheer, not for you. You deserve no praise, you didn't finish. It's them who earn medals, for they tried 1/2 as hard and they succeeded, unlike you!
Give up! You aren't good enough anyway. Just, give up.
