I woke up beside a pine tree, in the middle of a forest. My silky black hair plastered against my cheeks with blood. I sit up, leaning my aching body against the tree, trying to figure out why I'm in the middle of the forest. On my right hand side is bloody corpse of a man. Maybe... 19-21 years old. Crows cawed about my head, and flies circle the corpse. My phone is thrown in a pile of sand about a foot away. I wipe the blood from my face and stand up. My legs are weak from a long hunt gone wrong. I walk over and pick up my phone, wipe it off, and call my friend Deocame.
"Hello," He answers.
"Hey. I... need you to pick me up," I replied.
"Alright... Be there in 5."
I hang up the phone.
Deo and I are vampires. If you couldn't figure that out for yourself.
I walk to the edge of the forest where the grass meets the sidewalk. Deo pulls up in his car.
"What're you waiting for? Get in before they file the missing persons report and your put down."
After about ten minutes we finally reach the Vampire District. Deo parks at the end of Main Street and we get out. We reach the entrance to The Sanctuary and walk inside. Deo takes a seat at the bar.
"I'm going to the bathroom to wash up," I said.
In the bathroom, there were no mirrors. (Because vamps can't see there reflection) Just a sink and a wooden stall with claw marks. After I wash up, I meet Deo at the bar and take a seat on the stool beside him.
There was a weird silence between us as everyone chatted with friends and met up with the auctioneer.
"So, who's life did you end this time?" He finally said.
"I..." The words got caught in my throat.
I looked him in the eye and said, "Deo, I killed your brother!"
