~Prologue~
Zero was a very lonely child. Her father left before she had even been born. Her earliest earliest memory is of her mother shouting, and the only other thing Zero remembered from when she was young was being slapped around. She hadn't even been given a name, so she chose 'Zero'.
Zero had decides to do something meaningful with her life. However that all goes downhill when she is kidnapped by a mysterious murderer who has deeper intentions, more that he lets on. This man who tortures and torments Zero physically and mentally, introduces her to a world where human beings can adopt new senses and become something else entirely.
~Story start~
Rainy days are never good, she thought as she stared through the rain that poured down relentlessly around her.
Despite thinking this, she couldn't deny that rainy days did make her feel better, right after a vicious beating.
She had no father, no friends and no name, courtesy of her mother never bothering to give her one. In fact she had learned to swipe a meal before she could even talk. It’s not like she could blame her mother though, they weren't exactly rich and food was hard to come by in their area.
So this nameless girl thought, she had nothing, and names weren't important, but just in case she would ever need one, she chose, Zero. She thought she suited it quite well, a name to match everything she didn't have.
Zero watched with much curiosity as two unmoving girls were dragged across the cobbled road in the square. A cluster of people had gathered all staring with narrowed and loathsome eyes, which confused her further. What was happening? And why did the first girl have stitches on her lips, sealing them closed?
The second had her eyes stitched and a beaten and broken body. It was then Zero overheard a distant conversation. He, had struck again. Who was he?
The rain had washed the gory trails of blood away as it still down poured. Zero hesitantly stepped over to the bodies tied up to the post in the middle of the square, once the crowds had dispersed. The girl with sealed eyes twitched as she drew near. Her muddy blonde hair stuck to her ghostly white face as the rain thrashed down on her, also washing dried blood that clung to her ragged clothes and skin. She sniffed the air like a dog would making Zero tilt her head at the action.
"W-who are you?" The girl with sealed eyes questioned. She hadn't stuttered out of fear; her voice had come out more like a rusty croak. Zero didn't answer as she crouched next to her, taking advantage of the girl’s blind state. "Y-you smell, lonely." Zero's eyebrows furrowed. How could anyone smell loneliness?
"Hey, Brat! Get away from them!" A soldier in grand armour came storming over causing Zero to jump out of her skin. Fear spiked up in Zero, and struggling to her feet she shot off in the opposite direction. She did not want to get in trouble with the soldiers, again.
Were those two girls a message that something sinister was in town?
Auther's note: So this is my first story and I hope you readers and writers will like it. Please criticize all you want! Well..please don't be too mean but I do want to improve! So please by all means go ahead and put what you think. Just a heads up this is a rough version and I will be editing it later on.
