"You see that boy? The one with the blonde hair."

I looked around the large ballroom. Everyone wore magnificent clothing. Including myself and my best friend, everyone was looking spectacular tonight.

This without a doubt was the proper occasion for such luxurious wear. Tonight differed from most nights simply because of the importance of the hosts. This was the night where a very powerful man will be making a very important announcement to run for president.

This man was easily identifiable even inside the massive crowd. He carried this aura with him. And a dense body of security guards around too.

His name was Thomas Waters. At just 26 years old Thomas Waters had risen from the bottom to a successful and well-known businessman. He was the owner of the fine establishment where this very party was being thrown at. He had come from a life close to poverty. His past had humbled him, and that's why he was so favored. Now at 52 he was running for governor of New York. I always doubted the integrity of politicians. I've discovered through my networking that nearly all politicians have some sort of corrupt agenda.

Still, his absolute clean past was attractive to the voters. They liked the all American man. He represents the dream, and he was good at manifesting that disguise. He had the perfect wife, two private but successful sons, he gave money to charities; overall a well-rounded man. But there was always something corrupt about politicians. Always a selfish drive pushing them to run for governor.

Ignoring the fact that I will never truly find out the truth behind Mr. Waters, I focused back on my best friend who continued talking about her unknown blonde subject.

"The one with the Piano. Attractive, kinda looks upset..." Estephani continued.

The man in the piano had his eyes closed, head facing forward, and fingers playing without altering. He had been playing for most of the night. His body was completely calm, but his face was filled with passionate emotion. His eyebrows were furrowed, and lips shaped in an upset expression. We weren't really that far from him, and I soon felt robbed of an experience because I hadn't noticed his presence earlier. I'd been too interested in gathering information on celebrities.

His hair was blond, long and tied into a bun. I wouldn't say he looked upset, more like passionately enveloped in his piano. I didn't understand why Estephani had an interest in him. He was attractive, I'll give her that, but so were half the men here.

"Is he a famous pianist?"

"Well his daddy owns this place. I'd think if you have such a rich father you're automatically well known. Well, he's the exception."

"That's Mr. Waters's kid?" I questioned in disbelief.

"Yep." She said looking up after taking a sip from her champagne flute.

I looked back at the man, the son rather, who still continued to play with a pained look.

Unlike the rest of the guest, he was dressed casually, comfortably fitting a t-shirt and jeans.

And unlike his father, he seemed human. He didn't look as if his personality has been molded by the eyes of the public. He looked like he didn't care, and by the way, he looked and the intensity on his face, he probably didn't.

"Odd isn't he."

"Aren't we all. His look suits him." I said defending him. I so badly wish I was in a comfortable pair of jeans. The dress shared my assets a bit much.
