"There he is!"
Standing menacing on the hill with the moon behind his towing figure, is the blood sucking parasite. His stance with hands to the sides, clenched suggests he will put up a fight.
"Go after him!"
Two of the residents come running at him with intent to kill. The shorter of the two has a partially-rusty three inch knife. The other has small , dull machete. The only thought that comes to either of their minds is the thought that because they possess a weapon, they will ensure their victory in a fight. They were dead wrong.
A machete curves it's way towards the man only to cut the air of the cold autumn night. A knife continues the goal of hitting the figure, but also suffers the downfall of the last failed attempt. Both of the men feel a breath down their necks.
Before they could turn around, a hand goes through the machete holder. Straight through the chest with no trouble piercing his heart.
Dead on impact.
Frightened of his fallen comrade, the small man throws a barrage of slashes and throws. The figure moves swiftly, dodging every strike with rhythm that states perfection. He cannot hit it. He will never hit him.
The figure grabs the hand of the frightened animal of a man, fighting for mere survival now, leaving behind the attempt at this beast's life. He doesn't want to be here. He wants to go home back to his family and live a long life. He goes midway in explaining and begging the figure to let him go.
The figure does not do mercy.
With a hand on the neck of the beggar, the beast clenches his hand slowly, to feel the pain of the man as his throat crushes and fills with blood and his lungs scream for air. Feel the soul leaving the small mans limp body, a large snap concludes the crude act of murder. The figure drops the newly-made corpse on the ground. It rolls down the hill hence were it came, back to the crowd of men who desire the destruction of the demon. The men now feel a dark chill of fear roll down each of of their spines. None of the men want to die. The beast disregards their desires.
"You come for my life because I am the monster?" He snarls at the interior mortals that cower below him.
"Not only will your wish be denied by what you came for, but your lives will be taken as well. No one here is worth anything... Breathing."
