"The Midnight Game"

"Its over!"

9:30 PM
Sascha walked off stage after performing, she just wanted to flop down onto her bed and sleep, but she couldn't quite yet, she had to change into her normal clothes and run down the street to pick up her friend..
"Hey Sascha!" Anna exclaimed while waving cheerfully "Oh hey Anna, are you ready to go?" Anna simply nodded and began to follow Sascha. After arriving at home, they talked about each other's days, then Anna brought up a strange topic "Have you heard of the Midnight Game?"
Sascha looked down for a second, attempting to process what had happened "Er.. Yeah? Why? You never talk about creepy stuff like that!"
Anna shrugged "I dunno, I just saw it on the web.." Sascha sighed "Well, what? Do you want to play the game or something? We'd have to wait another like.. 2 hours"
Anna nodded immediately "Yeah! It would be fun! Plus, I'm sure it's a fake legend"
Sascha sighed "Fine, I'll get the materials, then we can do some research to know what we're getting into..."
11:40 PM
"Well, are you sure you wanna do this Anna?"
She nodded, then grabbed the materials to begin the ritual, the first thing she grabbed, was a red pen, she carefully wrote her full name, then handed the pen to Sascha, she wrote her full name as well.
They both pricked their fingers with a needle, and put a drop of blood on the paper next to their names.
They ran to the front door and set down the paper before running off to get candles, and matches.
11:55
Everything was set, Anna lit the two candles, then waited till 11:59
Then, she began knocking on the door, exactly twenty two times, and the final knock, was at exactly 12:00
She opened the door and blew out her candle, then immediately grabbed a match and relit both candles.
The door slammed shut, the game had begun...
12:05
Sascha and Anna continued walking through the house "Remember, if your candle goes out, you have exactly ten seconds to relight it, but if you can't, surround yourself with salt, immediately!"
Anna nodded, "Yeah, I know.."
Sascha smiled "Well, what do we do till 3:33 AM?"
Anna thought for a moment as they walked through the dark halls "How about we tell stories?!" Anna suggested
Sascha nodded, and they began telling stories and secrets for a while...
12:30
Anna and Sascha's candle suddenly went out, "RELIGHT THEM!" Anna yelled.
Sascha fumbled around with the matches, and finally grabbed a match successfully, she striked it on the box and lit both candles "There, now, let's go find the salt.. We can stay up in the attic"
1:00 AM
After they had surrounded themselves in salt, they continued telling stories
Then, a low, dark, raspy voice spoke "You aren't playing fair!~" They both jumped "Who said that?!" Anna hissed
Sascha shrugged and looked around, and suddenly a gust of wind blew away the salt, and the candles were blew out, Anna swiftly relit her own candle and backed into the corner
Sascha growled "Give me the matches! Now!" She snapped, and suddenly, something grabbed her and began dragging her down the stairs
"ANNAAAAAA!" She screamed
Anna stayed huddled in the corner with the candle lit
"I'm sorry Sascha....."
2:33 AM
Anna lurked through the house, the floor was sticky and red from the blood that poured from Sascha's body, she kept praying, she could last another hour, just one more hour, that's all she needed..
"Give up! Like she did..."
The low voice chuckled and echoed through her head as she walked through the hall
"Stop it! Stop! Just stop!"
She yelled
The low voice chuckled and hissed again
"Let's play a game!~"
A pitch black figure stepped in front of her and gently scratched her cheek with its claw "Hehe! It's Tag! And you have ten seconds to run, now go!~"
Anna stumbled backwards then ran through the halls, praying the candle wouldn't go out
As she ran, she caught a glimpse of Sascha's mangled and bloody body
She collapsed to the floor and rolled a bit, blood splattered on her face and clothes
"It's over.. He's going to find me.. and kill me too...." She mumbled softly
Anna looked up at the ceiling, before noticing the dining table beside her, a cloth draped down to the floor
She lifted it then weakly rolled under the table and set the candle down beside her
And then, the low voice appeared
"Clever!~ You chose to hide.. I guess it's hide and seek now! Let's see... Are you... HERE?" A door slammed open
"No? How about here?"
The cloth lifted up, and Anna was face to face with the creature, she let out a blood curdling scream as she was dragged out from under the table
"No! Please! Mercy! It's 3:31!"
She glanced at the clock as she was dragged across the floor
She sighed, her fate was sealed, she was going to get mangled by this thing, unless it took two minutes to kill her
It suddenly dropped her
"Tell ya what, if you can get up and run in three seconds, you'll have a chance of survival! Now go!"
Anna attempted to stand, but slipped on a pool of blood
"One"
She rolled away and stood up swiftly
"Two"
She attempted to run, but it was to late,
"Threeeeee!"
The creature grabbed her arm and dragged her to the basement
"NOOOOOOooooo.........."
Her last scream left her body, it was over
The Midnight Man won the game!
