To Layland’s surprise the child pushed him back with unsuspected force. He watched as the child circled him. Looking for an opening in Layland’s defensive stance. With a yell the child swing the wooden sword at him. Layland moved out of the way sending the child tumbling forward under the weight of the sword.

The child perfectly implemented the correct way to fall. Still a tad shaky in the legs. Tomorrow's lesson will be on leg strength We’ll see if that remedies the problem. “Are you okay child?”  The child didn’t answer but stood up and readied the wooden sword with fire in their eyes.  Another yell erupted from the child as they moved toward Layland. He moved around the training room avoiding every hit. He took a bell from his pocket and rang it once.

The child stopped attacking but remained alert. Just like Layland taught them. He holds back a smile. “Alright that is it for today.” “The child nodded and lowered the sword. Layland watched the child place the wooden sword carefully on the empty hook on the wall. He watched as the child wipes their face and before they walked out of the room completely he said “One more tip my pupil, Do not yell when you attack. You are being trained so that your victims will never see death coming. Death is silent remember that. The child nodded “Yes teacher” then like that the child was gone.
