The Pit

She sits alone on the edge of the pit

They've been digging it for quite some time now

Using their lies as shovels, making the hole deeper with every word that crawls off their tongue

Those who don't dig, push

They try to push her in as she holds on to the edge tightly

They spit acid at her, burning her skin

But still she suffers through and holds tight

She fights for the others, because they can't stand to see her in the pit, it frightens them

She goes through all this pain for the others but when she reaches out a hand they turn their backs

The others are scared of them

Scared of the creatures that follow her around

They don't scare her though

She's learned to live with them
