I will feel the love from my dog as I embraced him with joy that same day
The smile on my face shows how much gratitude and exhilaration I felt in my heart
As I smelled a hint of a berry scent coming from the shampoo and conditioner in my hair
I sat on the carpeted floor in a comforting 72 degree room
I never knew the day would ever come to where I must depart from him
He was always there when I was down
I will always remember the way he would give me his paw to give him a rub
The look on his face when I would put hats on him or feed him at dinner time

And I know how lucky I was to have such a nice companion and friend to live with
