Kenya's Past

It was the night before school got out for summer break and it was Kenya's freshman year and she was at home by herself, even though there are several end of the year parties going on. She was typing a new story on wattpad and was in the zone. "and the prince was shocked that that the princess was using him the whole time" she said as she finished typing her romance. Suddenly her phone went off, she shrieked and fell off of her bed. She stood up an answered the phone call. "GIRL!", her bestfriend yelled through the phone." you are missing a killer party, where are you?''. Kenya laughed and replied," I am at home in my pajamas, snuggled up to my cat, eating icecream, and finishing my romance story on wattpad, why are you at a party anyway, I thought you were gonna get your exboyfriend back?''. She heard her bestfriend laugh and say, "Oh silly, he's at the party, I had to make sure he wasn't gonna hookup with some ugly girl as a rebound". Kenya just rolled her eyes and said, "Well what are you calling me for then?''. " so that you can get your lazy, boring butt over here to have some fun" her friend said. Kenya was tired but understood that her friend wanted her to enjoy life before her highschool years actually started when she went into her sophomore year. " fine I'll come, just please don't expect me to do anything crazy, and embarass me", she said as she hung up the phone. " okay, now to get ready, and to suffer", Kenya said as she started to get ready for the party. Later at the party, Kenya stepped out of the car wearing a purple, short, and sparkly dress. She walked up to her bestfriend Amber and smiled, "are you happy now, I ditched the pajamas and put on a dress, and took a taxi all the way out here, just for you.". Amber laughed, clearly drunk and in need of some water, " Oh my gosh!, there you are, I can't believe you actually came out, you know with you being pregnant and all I thought you wouldn't come", and due to her being drunk she yelled it out for the whole party to hear. Now in certain circumstances this would be one of those situations where she would be able to say in confidence that she wasn't, but not in this situation because she was pregnant. She wasn't very far along but thanks to some idiot that she got with she was now pregnant. everybody in the whole house stopped whatever they were doing and stared in disbelief, after all she was the most popular girl there was at the highschool, and was head of the cheer team, why would she want to go and mess all of that up just have unprotected sexual intercourse, right? Kenya just stood there, feeling so many different emotions and didn't know what to think. Suddenly she heard screaming, she saw people pointing at her hands, so she looked down and saw that her hands were drooping against her sides. She looked up at her bestfriend in disbelief wondering if it was a dream. Then her hands started to burn and looked down once again not expected to see them back to normal, but they were on fire. She felt tears streaming down her face and suddenly all of her emotions started to flood back in and she lost any control she had. Her whole body started to catch on fire and and she stretched her whole body and started to throw fire like there was nothing else to do and then she blacked out. She woke up the next morning confused as to why she was on the ground. She looked over and gasped and saw that the house that had the party last night was burned to the ground along with people that were inside. Confused on what to do she stood up and ran. She burst through her door in tears and saw her parents awake and were eating breakfast. Her mom put down the fork and ran over to her asking what had happened. Kenya wouldn't stopped crying and just ran over to the t.v. and turned it on to the news where it showed the house that she had burned down. Her mother looked at her and said, " did you do that, Kenya?", Kenya nodded and her parents started to pack and before Kenya knew it she had gotten an abortion and was on her way to a new town to start over where nobody would know her.
