A sleek, black cat yawned and stretched out its body, gracefully jumping down from the window frame onto a redwood desk. The cat pawed over to his owner before getting distracted by an open letter; staring at it with wide grey eyes the black-furred fiend gave it a sniff before sneezing on it.

"Karma, you are disgusting! Did you have to get your kitty snot on my letter?" The owner sighed. Karma meowed his answer before turning his attention back to the letter. A pale, clawed hand picked up the letter and messed with the hologram that came with it. Putting it down on the desk and pushing the replay button the message started up again.

All Might stood proudly with a grand smile on his face, "Congratulations Marcus Windheart! You have been accepted to UA class 1-A hero course! As you should know, you are starting a little later in the semester. However, with your high score on the written exam and superb performance on the obstacle course I'm sure you'll fit right in! We look forward to teaching you!" The message ended and Marcus scoffed.

"I told them to call me Mark..." He hissed.

Getting into the hero course, not to mention All Might, the number one hero and his teacher, was overwhelming. A knock sounded at the door making Karma bolt under the bed. Mark leaned back in his computer chair before letting the person knocking know they could come in.

"Hey Mark, so what did that letter say?" A middle-aged man with messy brown hair and blue eyes questioned as he opened the door. Mark hummed taking in his father's appearance.

"You look like shit," Mark commented and his father rolled his eyes. Mark hissed as his father turned on his bedroom light.

"Well, you look worse. What's with that hiss, are you some type of vampire? Did all those hives come from the artificial light?" Mark's father laughed.

"The school uniform is what made me break out in hives," Mark growled and scratched the red bumpy blotches on his porcelain skin.

"Ah, well I'll fix it for you. You'll just have to wear your everyday clothes tomorrow." Mark sighed and felt a rising panic in his chest. Mark's father took in his son's posture, his son was born with fox ears and tail, so it was always easy to read him. The black fox ears, that nearly blended in with Mark's hair, was flat on his head. The matching tail bristled, and Mark's amber eyes were narrowed in thought.

Mark's father took a few moments to think about what to say, "Nervous? Don't worry, the school will understand the whole uniform thing. Not to mention you already turned in your hero name. The Nocturnal Hero: Black Fox! I really liked it."

"It's not that dad. I don't like heroes, I don't want to be a hero." Mark growled out bearing his fangs.

Mark's father sighed, "I know... I don't like them either. Frankly, I'm worried how they will view your quirk, Kitsune. Your quirk isn't based off a cute little fox, it's based off a fox demon. They took one look at my quirk and deemed it a villain's quirk. Mine isn't even nearly as powerful as yours, but I know you'll be ok. We are doing this because I can't teach you how to use your quirk."

"I guess. Have you heard about the Hero Killer Stain?" Mark asked looking at his father, before opening up his gaming laptop. He then began typing, looking for a video.

"Who hasn't?" He replied sitting on Mark's bed. Mark's father picked up the school uniform and eyed it with icy blue eyes. He could sew in silk on the inside of this uniform that way it's soothing on Mark's sensitive skin.

"Well, there's this video that's been going around," Mark muttered before finding what he was looking for and bring it up. He then full-sized the video, and turned up the volume for his father could hear what was going on.

"The Hero Killer, Stain. Real name Chizome Akaguro! As a child he was greatly inspired by All Might's debut, he enrolled in a private hero high school. But was dismayed by what he viewed as an educational system's skewed understanding of what it meant to be a hero. Throughout his teenage years, Chizome advocated for the return of the early days of heroes. But he quickly realized that words had no power. For the next ten years, he trained in killing techniques in order to fulfill his self-appointed duty."

Mark's father did a low whistle at that information. He was quickly shushed by Mark as the video continued.

"During this time his parents passed away in what police eventually ruled as a tragic accident. His focus was on a return to the old days, he believed heroes should not seek compensation. That one should epitomize the idea of self-sacrifice. He believed that present-day pros were frauds. Through his violent purges, he hoped society would eventually side with him. 'These streets must run with the blood of hypocrites, HERO, I will reclaim that word. Come on! Just try and stop me you fakes! There is only one man I'll let kill me, he is a true hero. All Might is worthy!'"

"I'm curious how they got close enough to get that shot of his face." Mark sighed at his father's comment.

"Dad! He's right! Most of these heroes are just in it for the fame and money. I mean, we don't even know what they could be like when there are no cameras around!" Mark growled, his amber eyes flashing a deadly scarlet for a second. Mark pushed his black bangs back with his clawed hand and calmed down.

"It's ok to be frustrated but chin up. Tomorrow is your first ever day in a public school! Well, UA is a private school, but still you'll be with other people, unlike homeschool." Mark's father beamed. He picked up the acceptance letter and left Mark's room shutting the door behind him and turning off the light.

Mark sighed and stood up catching his reflection in the mirror. He was so thin he looked like a flat chested girl and his skin made him seem like a doll. Not to even start on his rather large eyes due to his quirk. He took a deep breath and decided to go to bed, even if it was noon, he would sleep till midnight at least. Mark noticed a piece of paper with a phone number on it next to his school uniform he was going to put away.

'I know you have issues making friends so here is a phone number of someone I met at work. He likes those RPG things like you do. Love, your favorite and only dad.' Mark smiled fondly at the note and picked up his touch screen phone and added the number putting the person under "RPG" before sending a single text. He then put his phone on silent and laid down to sleep.

Mark – RPG?
