At this job the seconds felt like hours. Time seemed to slow down even when customers poured in the door faster than Aliyah and her fellow employees could pour coffee. It was midsummer so thankfully college was out, but that meant college students regularly hung out at her Starbucks location since it was so close to the school. Aliyah sighs and checks her watch 3:21, her shift is almost up. She refocused her attention on the orders in front of her and began creating the drinks engraved into her name and calling out the poorly spelled names on the cups.
"Fey?" Aliyah called out attempting to read the scribbled name.
A pretty girl looking around her age with brown hair and eyes steps up to the glass, "Faith?" she asks.
"Caramel macchiato?" Aliyah counters, trying to ensure Faith is the right customer. She nods and Aliyah hands over the drink earning a smile from the brunette. With her order in hand, Faith turns and walks out the door leaving Aliyah to wonder what she would've done if she was only confident.
