Hey guys finally got an idea for a novel that I can work with, Planning to have at least ten chapters, if not many more than that. If you have any ideas or suggestions they are welcome, won't post the next chapter until it at least has someone who enjoys the plot.

Deamons blood

Chapter 1

Welcome to Chaos

Thunder clapped overhead as the small family drove into the storm, searching for what they had staked their very lives on, something that may not exist after the events of the last few decades.

In the driver's seat was a middle aged man whom was the father of the two children sitting in the back seat, his blue eyes showed the worry and exhaustion that had accumulated in his mind over the past few days of travel. His wife sat next to him her deep black hair hung down over her face hiding the fear within her eyes from her young children.

The two boys that sat in the back seat were identical twins that were it not for the different color shirts they wore and they're eyes there would be no way to tell the difference between the two. Both had deep black hair like their mother yet one had deep forest green eyes that showed stoic strength, and the other had blood red eyes that still reflected a fierce loyalty to his brother and a will to fight for what he believed in. They could not have been older than seven years old.

The car passed an abandoned chevron station when the sky opened up and let the rain that the area had needed for months fall, an un-working red light that was at one point a four way intersection lay before them after the station. The car turned right onto the old highway that two short years ago had been bustling with traffic and now was bare except for the lone car and heavy drops of rain that fell upon the broken and cracked pavement.

"I can't see a thing!" the father said in frustration. "How are we supposed to find this place if I can't see road five feet in front of us?!"

He felt a touch on his arm and when he turned, he was met by the beautiful face of his wife, "Caleb, relax your scaring the boys." His wife replied trying to hide the mutual fear she shared with him. "We should be close now, you saw the signs just like I did, and we're going in the right direction." She said more trying to reassure herself then stating something she firmly believed in.

Sighing Caleb turned to look at his sons then back at his wife, "I know we'll make it there Anna. I'm just worried that when we make it there if there is going to be anything left."

A grim mood took hold of the inside of the car, and the only sound that could be heard was the steady thump of the rain on the on the windows.

"Look daddy." said the twin with green eyes.

"What is it Greg?" his father asked him.

"There's a group of people walking on the other side of the road they almost look like they're lost."

"What?!" Caleb asked trying not to scare his sons, but as he looked out into the fog he could see the outlines of a large group of people with more pouring out of the forests on either side of the road. Yet as he pulled closer he could see that they were no longer human. They're bodies were mangled and ripped apart, many had bone showing, bleached by the dry unforgiving sun that the small town in Georgia had overhead.

"Anna, grab my shotgun." he said panicked adrenalin coursing through his body. He could tell that they had noticed their passing and were starting to follow closely behind the car. He tried to speed up to get away from the slow moving hoard but as he accelerated a vast looming shape appeared out of the mist, and he had to slam on his brakes to avoid crashing into it.
