Part 1 Chapter 1

I didn't mean to break it I was just having a look

Oh, I know I shouldn't touch, I should have never picked it up

But even though you're poison, babe, I wouldn't even hesitate

~So Jealous by Lisa Mitchell

Many odd things had happened to Emma at that time, her pureblood Slytherin family had never treated her correctly, and then even worse after she was sorted into Ravenclaw. But her family wouldn’t disown her, she was an only child, so apart from a distant cousin, she was the only pure Stacy left. Her mother wouldn’t disown her just so she would marry someone of less than pureblood status, she would ruin the bloodline, and that was unacceptable.

That was not the only odd thing going on, but that wasn’t front most in Emma’s mind. What was, was the fact that this was a side she had never seen of Sirius Black. It was December 11th, early in the morning. Emma wasn’t meant to be outside her common room for curfew hadn’t ended yet, but there she was, sitting just beside the front steps of the castle, a complex invisibility spell she had read up on was cast over her, and she enjoyed herself as she watched the sky slowly  get lighter.

As she watched this happened, a small smile made its way onto her face (not that anyone would see, for she was indeed invisible at the time). As she looked at the Black Lake she heard an odd set of rustling coming from somewhere near the Whomping Willow and as she turned she was hit by an odd sight, a cut up looking Remus Lupin, which was rather an odd sight since he was ripped and bleeding, but his robe was not in the same condition, it was in the right condition, slightly shabby, but not cuts or wear and tear marks. But that was not the only odd things about the situation, for Emma one of the odd things was the fact that Sirius Black, the seemingly heartless boy who had knocked her out in the hallway at the start of the year and didn’t even blink.

The fact that he was indeed heartless made the fact that he was helping his friend so kindly, so effortlessly that it seemed also as if he did these acts of kindness everyday (Which Emma was sure wasn’t true). Emma didn’t even think that he’d even be so kind to one of his friends, to Emma; Sirius Black didn’t even have enough kindness in him to even attempt to soothe a crying baby.

So when she saw this odd sight, she startled, but was careful not to make a sound, for she did have an invisibility spell on, but no sound spells. She watched as Black helped Lupin all the way from the willow to the steps she was sitting right beside her (she held her breath as this happened), to be greeted by a frazzled looking James Potter, who put one of Lupin’s arms around his shoulder just like Black had done, and helped him into the castle.

Emma didn’t follow though, she was almost in a state of shock, and she turned her head to the front again in a distant sort of manor, staring out to the Black Lake. Sirius Black, the manipulative, playboy asshole isn’t actually so, he is actually- Emma cut her own thoughts off there, she had never before thought of Sirius Black in any manner apart from hate, why start now. She frowned at herself, and stayed outside till breakfast, for she was already in her robes.

That was the first odd case, there were many more to come.
