Her grin faded. She did not respond and just looked at me straight in the eyes. I don't know what she's up to but she's intimidating. The look and the way she look is making me uneasy and restless.

She looked at my forehead. Is she reading my mind? Can she? Why does it looks like she can?

Gano'n pa man, hindi ako nagpasindak. I looked at her straight in the eyes.

Pero hindi ko talaga kaya.

Nauna akong umiwas ng tingin at nagpakawala ng malalim ng hininga.

“Fine,” I started. “I am avoiding my parents.” My aggressive eyes took its U-turn and met her gazes, “Why are you here being a nuisance?”

Ang galing ko talaga umarte.

She look offended. She glared at me, “Because I’m guarding MY place and YOU happened to be very suspicious, you damn idiot,” naiinis niya sabi. Marahas din itong bumuntong-hininga.

Maka-"idiot" naman, wagas.

I chuckled. Pikon naman pala 'to. Wala 'to, maikli pasensiya.

Pfft. How cute.

“Why are you trying to avoid your parents?” she asked, breaking the silence that enveloped us.

I was hesitant to respond. I don't personally know her, it's our first time meeting each other. What's unusual is I feel comfortable around her.

“Mind your own business,” I emphasized at mahinang tumawa.

As fast as a lightning, binawi niya ang kamay mula sa pagkakahawak ko.

Shit. Minus pogi points.

“Bakit?” kalmado niyang tanong.

Buti naman at mukhang hindi siya galit. “I just want to ask if we can, by any chance, meet again this evening?” I asked and scratched my right cheek, nakakahiya.

A part of me is hoping for her to say "yes".

“I’ll try.”

Her answer made me smile again, “Nice. See you, then,” I said. I successfully held my wide grin.

Before she finally go her way, I stretched my hand. “Ako nga pala si Ash”pagpapakilala ko.

She just looked down my hand, wala atang planong tanggapin ang kamay ko. “Kim”

Suddenly some manly voice echoes on my head.

Dang.

I was left stupefied. I felt my eyes went uneasy.

I took a step back. Without bidding goodbye, I left by teleportation.

Tss.

"Son," he called.

"Hmm?" I plainly responded.

"You will no longer stay here to study."

That caught my attention. I faced his direction.

"Mag-aaral kana sa paaralan ng Light Kingdom at sa lunes ka na magsisimulang pumasok," his deep, authorative voice echoed in the hallway.

Without even greeting me a Happy New Year, he left.

Matutuwa ba ako? How am I suppose to react?

This will be my first time attending school outside the castle. They rarely allow me to go out.

They can easily give me freedom to walk around freely and let other men run their business for them. But I don't really understand why they let their child take the risk.

The moment I got back on my senses, I remembered Kim.

Those short moments our eyes lock, I feel so nostalgic.

Something inside me wants to spend some more time with her and to somehow get to know her better.

O epekto ba 'to dahil ngayon lang ako halos ulit nakalabas?

Is this just an infatuation?
