The earthquake hit us all, but it only killed my best friend. Sometimes I wish I could trade places with her. I would give anything to see her again, alive and happy like she was before she died. Her mom was crushed. i think she lost a part of her self that day. I couldn't imagine how it would feel having to live without a family member. She feels guilty, like she could have saved her. My mom goes to visit her sometimes. Tries to tell her that it's not her fault that Olivia died. It doesn't do any good though she still blames herself. I feel guilty that I survived and she died. Olivia was the most amazing person I have ever met. She understood me and new how to cheer me up when I was down. Living without her doesn't feel like living at all. Right now I am in the car on my way to private school. I am listening to the radio. Olivia's favorite song is on and I'm crying. I wish she was here to listen to it with me. It doesn't seem as happy of a song as it did when I had her to listen to it with me. People see me crying and think I'm a crybaby, but if you had lost your best friend you'd be crying to so I glare at them and look away. My mom has done everything to make me feel better but I refuse to be happy when Olivia can't be happy with me. My mother is tired. She stays up with me all night trying to stop my crying. My hair sticks to my wet and swollen face, piles of tissues on the floor, mom beside me holding my head in her arms, rocking me slightly. I never fall asleep though. I always stay awake and think of how Olivia died the day before her  14th birthday and then I feel guilty that I got mine and she'll never het her's. I have a soccer banquet tonight and mum knows that that added to my crying last night. Olivia and I always had soccer as our special thing. We always went to practice and them came to my house for ice cream after. Then we would go back to her house and sleep over. Mum has offered to let me have any friend I wanted over, no matter what she thinks of them, but I don't want another friend. I was perfectly satisfied with Olivia. We had something I will never had with anybody else, we had true friendship. We were like sister. We never wanted to be apart. Anything I did she did, and anything she did I did. I know that everything happens for a reason, but what was God's reason for taking my best friend from me. We're at school now. Mom is pulling up to the entrance. I won't even bother to wipe the tears away. Mom sees my face when I'm getting out. She tells me to get back into the car, and now were driving away form the school. She says we need to spend some time together. She stops by the house to grab a picnic basket, some food, and a blanket. She drives to the park and sets up the picnic. I want to smile for her, let her know I appreciate all she does to try to make me feel better, but I just can't. All I can think about is how Olivia will never go to college, or have a boyfriend, or get married like me. I start to cry again first lightly them heavier. Mom holds me and I cry more and more. I love my mom for trying so hard to cheer me up. I wish i could let her know I'm feeling better and her cheering has worked. But it hasn't , I am still sad and I still wish Olivia was here with me. If only mum truly new what would make me feel better. Olivia, Olivia would make me feel better. I tell mum I just want to go home, and she looks hurt, like I betrayed her. On our ride home I cry quietly as I can. I don't want to stress mum, though I know it's a little late now. When I get home a worn scrapbook out from under my bed. It's pictures of me and Olivia. I open it to the first page and see our first ever soccer picture. I am crying loud now and I can't help it. Olivia should be sitting next to me, looking through these pictures with me. I hope with all my heart that if she's not here, that at, least she's in heaven. I turn to the next page. I see a picture of our first school dance. I feel horrible now. Olivia meant the world to me. Now she was gone. As the thought truly sank in I sat down and cried. I cried for a n hour and then I finally fell asleep. When I sleep I can dream whatever I want. When I sleep I am with Olivia again. Sometimes I wish I could stay sleeping and be with her, but I know I have to carry on in life, and I only do it for her and mum. Mum is all I have left, my dad left when I was a young girl about 8 or 9. Mum sometimes feels guilty. She thinks maybe if I had a dad I wouldn't feel so lonely. This only makes me mad though, mom is doing a great job raising me alone and I hope she knows that.

A/N I hope you enjoyed this I know it's a little heavy but I was bored and this idea for a story just popped into my head and I had to get it down before I forgot it. Hope you enjoy it.
