Hi guys, I'm Leah and it's my first day as a trainer to my favorite baseball team. I get on the El to Wrigley Field. My heart is racing but I remain clam. An hour later, I see the entrance to the field and I walk in. The clubhouse is in disarray and I see him. You're probably wondering who caught my eye? Kris Bryant, the third basemen. Okay here goes nothing. I talk to Joe Madon, the manager of the team and I get nervous. I text a fellow trainer.
Text conversation:
Sam, how are you?
Leah, not so great.
How come?
Duncan Keith lost a tooth in the first period of the Blackhawks game.
Ouch! Was it due to a fight or a puck?
Friendly fire from the captain.
Is Johnathan okay?
He's feeling guilty about the hit. I have to go.
Bye!
As the conversation ends, I get my gear and leave the clubhouse. I'm warming up with the team when I hear a pop over on the third base line. The second I race to Kris, my heart races. I'm at the first base line when the first basemen, Anthony Rizzo calms me down.
I start to worry but a song comes into my head.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Tell me all of your doubts,
And Everybody bleeds this way,
Just the same.
Breathe in, breathe out,
Move on and break down,
If everyone goes away I will stay.
We push and pull,
And I fall down sometimes,
I'm not letting go,
You hold the other line.
Cause there is a light in your eyes, in your eyes.
Hold on hold tight,
From out of your sight,
If everything keeps moving on, moving on,
Hold on hold tight,
Make it through another night,
& everyday there comes a song with the dawn,
We push and pull and I fall down sometimes,
I'm not letting go,
You hold the other line.
Cause there is a light, in your eyes, in your eyes.
There is a light, in your eyes, in your eyes.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Breathe in, and breathe out.
Look left look right,
To the moon in the night.
And everything under the stars is in your arms.
Cause there is a light, in your eyes in your eyes.
There is a light, in your eyes, in your eyes.
There is a light, in your eyes, in your eyes.
There is a light, in your eyes, in your eyes.

After I go to third base, I see Kris holding his shoulder.
