this was it.

I looked down at Taveeta. Pale skin, shut eyes and not a breath of air. She was dead. The thought killed me inside as Tav was my only hope of comfort. Myles was out at a 'meeting' on the other side of town.

Every time he said it, Briar struggled to believe it. He has so many close friends, it was getting a bit strange how many girls were sliding into his dms.

Everyday, she would wake up and look beside her to find an empty space where Myles had previously been laying there with her. She had to keep telling herself the same lie. it's nothing. He hadn't been answering her texts like he used to. Always gone before she even woke up like he had somewhere to be at 4 o'clock in the morning. as if. She thought. He wouldn't lie. He doesn't lie.

She hugged Sage, laying her head on her shoulder. Sage had hers arms around her, returning the hug. She felt bad that the blonde had been put in such a bad state. Who knew so many bad things could happen in a short period of time? Nobody seemed to.

"I can't do this." She whispered, sniffling. "It'll be okay. I promise." The brown haired girl calmly reassured Briar that it was going to work out eventually, even though she was unsure herself. Breaking down in front of a broken person never solves the problem and it never will.

A few of the other girls hadn't been picking up either. It all followed a pattern.. one neither of the girls wanted to believe but knew it was all adding up too perfectly. Noah sighed, watching as she sobbed silently.

On the walk out the hospital, all four of them were met by Victoria who seemed to be panting. "S-s-she's gone." stuttered Sage, struggling to tell the other blonde the awful news. It was heartbreaking for all of them.

"o-oh.. I better go tell the others. Stay strong babes." She waved goodbye and disappeared into the dark of the night. Only a few street lights lit up certain areas of the city, leaving some rarely uncovered parts in the dark. The small group decided to go to McDonald's in hope of cheering themselves up. This kind of information is not what they would be expecting so soon.

Briar walked beside Noah as he put his arm around her shoulders and gave her a brief hug. He truly felt bad for her but he knew the only thing he really could do was be there for her.

Making it into McDonald's, they heard the song 'Paper Hearts' by Tori Kelly playing.

"trying to remember all the good times."

Crushed by this 'Heartbroken' themed ballad, Briar sighed and went up to the cashier but was failing to speak due to the panic she was going through all in her head. Liam joined her and helped her order the food, smiling sadly. She was shivering with anxiety. It wasn't the warmest in the room. He took off his hoodie and gave it to the petite girl beside him, whispering "Wear this."

She took it and without a doubt put it on. Briar was grateful Liam had even taken the time to notice her anxious behaviour and do something so refusing his offer seemed cold. That wasn't her. She wasn't one to act cold. In her opinion, it was impossible.

The cashier placed their food on the counter and with her from Liam, she took it to Noah and Sage. McDonald's mukbang at 11pm wasn't much of a shock to them. They spread out the food orderly and just took what they wanted.

Briar grabbed a box of fries and starting eating them casually. They all ate and tried to talk about things that were more cheerful. 'There was no point mourning so late at night.' thought Sage, eating her McFlurry carefully. The trauma was hard to avoid as everything just seemed to be taking a turn.

That was what she thought when sudden she saw herself get tagged in an instagram photo. Unwillingly, she opened up her phone and gasped, almost choking. Finishing her mouthful of ice cream, she coughed and a shocked look stayed plastered to her face.. What has Myles done?..
