Mel's POV
I woke up to the annoying beeping of the alarm disturbing my already half cut sleep.
Grabbing my phone to turn off the alarm ,i roll over the bed hugging my pillow tight as i continue my sleep.
I don't usually wake up this late but i just can't help it. I had to stay at the office late .preparing for the meeting our company has with the bright shoes company, one of the biggest shoe companies in the world that's if it's not the biggest.
After my Dad's company golden shoes company was defrauded by one of his friends we went bankrupt, the company has not been able to stand on it's own since then. So Dad decided that we should partner up with another bigger company so as to boost our sales and as well bring the company back on it's feet.
For over two years now i have worked my ass out just to bring back the company's image but all was to no avail, i really don't know why Mr Smith agreed to partner with us but i hope that his intentions are good cause i don't want the past to repeat it's self
According to social media the owner of bright shoes Mr Ethan Smith is so far the youngest CEO in the business. He is also known for his womanizing personality.
But on a more serious note i really don't know why some girls can still be so stupid as to falling for guys like him, trust me nothing good ever comes out from such men, i know this cause i have been there.
After staying in my room for what seemed like an hour, i finally decide to go shower. as i turned on the shower i suddenly felt so cold as if my body is not used to the water, but this is just something that am already used to cause i always feel like this when am nervous .I am really against this idea of partnership,but i had to agree with Dad cause we are doing this for the company. even it means sharing it with someone else.
After showering i dry my body and put on a pair of black pants matching it with a red Swed blouse which hugged my body perfectly exposing the small curve of me breast putting on my heels i pull my hair into a ponytail and head down stairs for breakfast.
"good morning Kate".i say greeting my nanny and our housekeeper,While heading over the kitchen counter pouring myself a cup of coffee .
"Good morning dear, hope u slept well? you got back pretty late from the office last night."
"yes Kate i slept well,thanks."
Turning to leave she turns back to me as if remembering something .
"and my dear your Dad said to inform you that he and your Mom would be heading to the office first to finalize the deal before heading to the hospital for your Dad's check up."
"Okay,Kate don't bother serving me i will do it myself just go and continue with your other chores."
"okay dear, if you need me i will be in the laundry room." she says while leaving the kitchen.
About an hour later i was already at the company. getting to my office i place my bag on my desk and sit down on my chair,opening my laptop i hear a knock at the door."
"Come in please".
"Good morning Ma, am sorry to disturb you, but your Dad said to tell you that your attention is needed at the board room."my secretary Jane says.
"Has Mr Smith arrived? ".
"Yes Ma, he just arrived. I suppose that's why your attention is required at the boardroom".
"Okay thanks Jane, you may leave now." picking up the contract paper, i exit my office to the board room.
Stepping into the board room my gaze immediately falls on a beautiful face with a deep blue eyes which looked so familiar, still staring and trying to remember where I've seen those beautiful eyes, i suddenly remember the magazine i saw about Mr Smith, but he even looks more handsome in person.
Still checking him out his gaze meets mine causing my breath to hitch on my throat, his deep blue eyes pierces mine ,checking me out from head to toe , i felt so naked under his gaze. What's wrong with me why can't i look away, i didn't know how long we stared at each other but i sure as hell am getting uncomfortable.
Finally saving me from this uncomfortable situation my Dad finally speaks.
"Oh! There you are sweetheart".my Dad says pecking my cheeks, reaching over to my Mum i peck her cheeks while taking a sit beside my Dad.
"My dear this is Mr Smith the owner of bright shoes company and Mr smith, this is my daughter the acting CEO of this company."
Standing to shake his hands, he gives me the surprise of my life by leaning towards me to place a kiss on my cheeks avoiding the handshake. when his lips connects to my cheeks , i felt a tingle in my stomach making me shiver at his touch.
"It's nice to meet you Mel."he says sitting back on his seat.
"the pleasure is mine" i reply sitting down awkwardly on my sit.
During the meeting, i tried my best to avoid Mr smith's gaze but it was so god damn difficult cause he kept on staring at me with a smirk on his face as if knowing how uncomfortable he made .
After the meeting all the contracts were finalized then Mum and Dad left for the hospital. Leaving me alone with Mr smith.
"so Mel what do you say we grab dinner tonight,is 8pm okay" he says smiling at me.
"sorry to disappoint you but i don't do dinner with strangers."
"that was harsh,I see that you are a feisty one he says coming closer,as he closes the distance between us.
"please i don't have time for all this ,am a very busy person."i say trying my best to sound as calm as ever,without looking into his beautiful blue eyes.
"I see you are trying to play hard to get" he pulls me by the waist towards his body making me shiver at the closeness of our bodies. why is my body reacting so much to his touch, this has never happened to be before not even with Knox. But what does this guy take me for,do i look to him like one of his fuck bitches.
"would you get your filthy hands off me, asshole!". i exclaim stepping out of his hold .what the fuck does he think of himself.
Actually the asshole came out unintentionally, but i don't regret it he deserves it.
Stepping out of the board room i hear the asshole say"don't worry sugar pie one of these days you will be mine".
