Our countries have been at war for decades, since before I was even born. I've known nothing but this dreadful war.
My family and I were standing at the border that sits between Nohr and Hoshido, preparing for another battle. I'm from Nohr in fact, a dark place full of frightening people. I squint my reddish, brown eyes to look into the distance, but my concentration is broken when a voice yells my name.
"Ah, there you are Leo." Xander, my older brother, calls out as his tall figure towers over me. I am tall myself, standing at around 5'8". But I was nowhere the size of my brother.
"Yes brother?" I ask.
"Please help us through this battle, you are our tactician after all." He says. As a reply, I nod my head. Since Iago was out on a mission for my father, I took place as the tactician for this battle. Those Hoshidan filth could never beat us with me as the tactician.
I shiver, the chilly fall day isn't ideal for war. But I still carry on. I look over seeing the Hoshidan army on the Hoshido side of the border. There, the sun is just setting. But on our side, it's always dark. People say that the sky's reflect the two countries. I feel as though that is true. The Hoshidan's are "peacemakers", whilst us Nohrian's are "bloodthirsty". But I just follow orders, since if I didn't, my father would kill me.
I breathe in trying to prepare myself for what is to come. I was never very fond of fighting, and I would much rather sit in a library and read a book. But I must not disappoint my siblings, or my kingdom by cowering away in fear. I look over to the Hoshidan army to plan out our first move.
While looking over at the Hoshidan army, I see him. A shorter male with long, dirty blonde hair flowing down to his hip, even though it was fastened in a ponytail. He is truly stunning. I've never felt this way before. What was this feeling? He looks in my direction and my heart skips a beat. But I must not let my feelings get in the way, I grab out my tome Brynhildr, flipping the pages, as I watch as the male takes his bow off his back, once his hand touches the string, an arrow appears. I've never seen an arrow like that before! I've studied many things, but never have I seen a bow like that. I conclude that it must be a legendary weapon, like my own. That could only mean that he was a prince. Before I can blink an eye, he releases the string. I can't move out of the way in time, even if I tried. I close my eyes, waiting for the sharp pain of an arrow piercing through my skin but, it never comes. When I open my eyes I see my brother in front of me blocking the hit with his sword. I gave him a look of surprise, before shaking my head.
"What were you doing Leo? Next time be more careful." Xander says, while turning his head to face me.
"I'm sorry big brother. I assure you, it won't happen again." I try to look behind him to catch a glimpse of the male once more. But he's gone.
"Who was that man who shot an arrow at me?" I ask.
"That was Prince Takumi of Hoshido, I'm surprised you didn't know that." Xander tells me. "Now little brother, do your best and fight!" My brother says encouragingly. I do as he says. The sooner this battle was over, the sooner I could ask Corrin about Takumi. I couldn't bring myself to kill any of the Hoshidan's though. The Nohrian's style of battle is killing without mercy. After seeing that Prince, I can't kill his people. I just hurt them so they wouldn't be able to fight in this battle once again. But instead of what I usually do -which would be killing the enemy- I don't, this is by far the worst I have ever fought. Of course, the Hoshidan's are winning. Before I knew it, someone tackled me to the ground.
"Ryoma will be pleased that I caught a Nohrian Prince." I can't Identify this person from their voice, I've probably never talked to them before. I try to turn my head to face her but her hand was pushing my head into the ground.
