How to stop time

Part 1:

My story takes place in present time, in Texas. This story is very unbelievable, even to myself. It starts on a Tuesday.
I wake up to my alarm dinging loudly like a angry bird. I get dressed quickly in black clothes (my usual) and eat breakfast. I walk down the stairs caught up in my own fantasy world. Then, my mom speaks up and suddenly I come to attention. "Andrea snap out of it" says mom. I jump to attention and look at her. She then goes through the same old pep talk she gives me every year before school: to be myself and try not to mess up my time in high school. After mumbling a few words like "yes mom", I walk out the door and into the crazy world we live in. I would have rather been in my room, but I am always forced to be socially acceptable and attend school. Little did I know this was the first day that I would discover my little power. But you'll see that in the next chapter.
