Thirty-Five

"I would check, but you're on me" I answered back.

He hummed.

"You're comfortable though"

His stomach made the loudest noise ever a couple of seconds later.

"Fuck"

He quickly got off of me and stumbled out of the room to the bathroom. I heard no puking noise come from the hallway, so I reached for my phone. Salem made his presence known by meowing as he hopped up on the bed.

"Well hello there" I greeted.

He too was wearing a striped outfit.

"Did you enjoy your slumber party?" I asked him.

He purred and climbed up on my lap.

"Merry Christmas, little boy," I told him.

I hugged him and kissed his little forehead. Adrian walked into the room just as I was doing that.

"You brought him with"

"Of course, he loves coming here" I replied.

"Where was he last night?"

"With the other cats," I answered.

He nodded.

"Are you up for eating?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll just eat a bit"

I nodded.

"We can talk after," I said as I walked out of the room still holding Salem.

Once we were downstairs, I set Salem down and walked into the dining room.

"Just in time"

The food had been served, so we took a seat.

"Merry Christmas, Adrian"

Adrian looked at dad.

"Merry Christmas"

Dad smiled.

"I see you had fun last night"

Adrian scrunched up his nose.

"Never again"

Dad chuckled.

"Well I'm sure the food will make you feel better"

Ali had made Shakshuka, and fresh bread. She and dad both watched as Adrian ate.

"Do you like it?"

His cheeks flushed up when he glanced up and saw we were all staring at him.

"Yeah, it's really good"

After brunch, Adrian and I went on a walk.

"I'm sorry"

"For?" I asked as we walked towards a park bench. 

"Being a jealous idiot"

I took a seat on the bench and waited for him to take a seat next to me. when he did, I spoke up.

"I'm not going to stop being friends with someone because it bothers you" I informed him.

"It didn't bother me, but then Oscar got into my head"

I should have known better than to trust Adrian's teammate, Oscar. Especially after he joined Adrian for lunch once at my place and Salem hissed at him. As it turns out, he's the idiot who's been making Adrian doubt our relationship. 

"I know, I know. I already got scolded by Lauren"

Good.

"You know I'm dating you because you're more than just a pretty face" I reminded him.
