"I'm asking you right now, Archie Andrews, do you even love me?"
Veronica Lodge stood outside The Pembroke. Her mascara dilated in the combination of the black substance and tears, staining a somewhat grey down her cheeks as she stared upon Archie Andrews.
He stayed silent. She knew in that moment she had her answer.
She should've took the way he flinched ever so slightly when she leant in to kiss him as a hint. The way he'd never call her every day like he used to. And they hadn't had sex in god knows when.
Archie Andrews didn't love her, but she was hopelessly in love with him.
"I'm sorry, Ronnie." He had muttered in her ear before turning his back and walking down the street. Veronica watched him stray further and further away, her heart impossibly feeling as if it was splitting into more and more pieces as he took another step.
She stood in silence. She didn't bother to wipe her stained cheeks until she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Would you like me to escort me to your place, Miss Lodge?" His eyes flashed with sympathy. Veronica glanced to the limousine to her right, which had supposed to drop Archie to his home. Instead, he had decided to walk.
She knew one thing for sure. Veronica Lodge was not going to mope over a boy in her room. She placed her hand firmly on Smithers with a smile.
"No thank you, I have somewhere to be. Please tell Daddy I won't be home tonight."
Smithers answered with a nod as Veronica stepped into the limousine.
"Dave Mendoza's Night Club." She ordered with a bold tone. The driver gave her a stern look, but nobody was arguing with Veronica tonight.
She pushed herself to the back of the limousine, arms spread wide across the leather backing. She glanced to her outfit and sighed in relief. Archie and her had gone out to an expensive restaurant, and Veronica had worn a tight purple dress which had hugged her curves. Nothing too fancy, which is why Veronica wondered why she even wore the dress in the first place.
The driver pulled into the destination. Veronica placed her lipstick back in her purse, took a deep breath and stepped out into the fresh air. It was a pretty cool night, maybe she should've considered wearing a jacket.
By the time she was in the line to enter she had finally remembered to check for her fake ID. She fished through her purse, her heart beating back to its normal speed when she pulled it out.
"ID, please."
She passed the ID. The man in black laughed.
"Nice try. Go back to your daddy, sweetheart."
Of course on a night like this, this would happen. She hated using her privileges in Riverdale, but if she didn't right now, she'd be in total embarrassment.
Straightening her posture, she sent a sickly smile to the guard.
"My daddy, if you didn't know, is Hiram Lodge. And if you don't let me in those doors right the fuck now, you and this business can say goodbye faster than I can say the words Déjame entrar—"
"That will be absolutely unnecessary. You may enter, Miss Lodge." His words, as expected had stuttered with fear. Veronica smiled in success and entered the building.
Where would Miss Lodge head to first? She certainly wasn't in the party mood to dance yet. Perhaps a few cups of liquor would intoxicate her and her feelings away. She pushed a strand of her raven hair behind her ear and confidently swayed her hips towards the bar.
