Speechless

First Day of Junior Year

Kate was walking down the halls quietly, looking at her schedule which contained:

·American History
·Spanish 2
·English 3
·P.E
·Chemistry
·Algebra 3
·Art

She sighs, mentally telling herself that it'll be okay and that she will finally learn to speak.

'All I wanna do is be heard... To be able to express my feelings through my voice and tell someone that I love them.' she thought as she walked to her History class.

"Good morning Katelyn, it's a pleasure to meet you! I'm Coach Lee." he said and smiled as she gave a soft nod, writing on her board that her mother, Isabelle got for her.

'Hello, Coach Lee, please call me Kate!' She writes and smiled, sitting in her desk. Jaxx walked in and saw her, he smiled a bit, but went back into a emotionless look on his face. He could never show that he was in love, he was supposed to despise the whole happy, bubbly feeling. 

'Hey Jaxx!' Kate smiled and looked at him, giving him a small nudge so she could get his attention. when he looked at her, he waved and gave a small scowl, which caused her to flinch and  look away. 

She sighs softly as she wrote her notes, stealing a few glances at Jaxx, which made their eyes meet. She smiled softly and he looked away blushing. 

The bell rings at the end of class and she walks on to her second hour of hell, looking at the floor and sighing. Still wishing to speak out loud to Jaxx and his friends. But, she meets two girls at the end of the hall named Jana and Lana. the most popular girls in her class. 

"Oh, Hey little mouse~" Lana said with a sickly sweet voice and a half smile. Which in Kate's opinion, looked like an antelope on crack. Kate rolls her eyes and sighs,"What do you want, Banana?" She retorts with a small smirk, erasing her board before adjusting her glasses. Lana slaps her with anger in her eyes and then, the blonde smirks. "there ya go you weak mute." she spat as Kate had tears rolling down her cheeks. 

Jaxx saw the entire thing and he walks away before he did something that Kate would never forgive him for. Once he saw Kate throw her board down, breaking it, then running to the Janitorial closet. He decided to follow her with a sigh. He knocks on the door.

"Kate, let me in." He says stoicly. All he hears is a sigh and her opening the door.

"I think we should teach you how to talk, if that is alright." He says with a small smirk. Kate only gave a small nod.
