There is no confusion as to what I feel.

For a minute, for even a moment,

It seems my whispered words of love
Have shattered your world's fragile tranquility.
Your broken smile floats in my mind
As you attempt to take the same road you have before.
Still, I will not turn away.
Well enough for you to hide away.
But I can not stop feeling.
Between us, there can be no peace now
Just more of the same loneliness.
Though the shadow of rejection
Turns today's prospects a gloomy gray,
All my hopes remain bright as ever.
Somehow, with you by my side,
I want to build a future
Under the open light of day.
