Rejection stung.
It hurt like a bitch.
Sure, he's been rejected before, but not like this. He was never really close to those people, but he was really close to Sero.
He didn't know if what he felt was love, what he did know is Han- sorry, Sero didn't feel the same.
The "Whoa, man, sorry, but I'm not gay." and "We're just friends, and that's all we'll ever be." hurt Kaminari more than what's-her-face bitch slapping him last year.
He balled his fists tightly, nails digging crescents into his palms as he choked back tears. He should've known this was coming.
This would just make their friendship awkward. Would they still be friends anymore? Part of him hoped so, but there was a small part of him that hoped not.
But, rejection is normal, right?
"I'll get over it, I'll get over it, I'll ge-" He was cut off by a loud knock on his door, followed by a "SHUT THE FUCK UP, I'M TRYING TO DO HOMEWORK." from Bakugou.
Kaminari weakly chuckled and shouted an "Okay, fine, Blasty," back, not even noticing how his voice shook or how he was teetering on the edge of breaking down.
There is no happy ending for him, he realized. Sero would go find himself a girlfriend, and Kaminari would still be stuck pining after him.
Rejection stung.
It hurt like a bitch.
