{Three Weeks Later}

《Hela's POV》

I was so happy when I finally heard Vali's voice in my head again. After we talked the first time, I had not heard from her for three whole weeks! I'm kind of impatient.

Hela? her voice in my head asked, finally.

Vali! You're talking! I squeaked happily.

Yes, I am. I just wanted to tell you-

I cut her off. What's up?

Have you told anyone else about our special talks? she asked.

No. I said, I've kept it a secret. I smiled.

I think you should tell Nari and Mom and Mama. They're probably really worried. I just wanted to say: Loki has changed. He's been acting like a dad to me. Even after I accidentally dumped a cup of juice on his head. But don't ask about that, her voice said.

I giggled. I won't. But I will tell Nari and Mom and Mama.

I heard Mama call me out of my room, "Hela! Dinner's ready."

I have to go to dinner, I thought. Talk to you later?

Yep, Vali thought back. I love you, sis.

I love you too! I told her. And I miss you.

Julia's POV

Hela skipped into the kitchen. She was wearing her favorite sweater, scarlet red with a poinsettia pattern. Her skirt was white and very flouncy.

"Hello, Mom," she said, swinging into the chair between me and Nari. I served her a portion of spaghetti and meatballs.

"Hello," I responded cheerfully, as Mara sat down. "You look like you have something to tell us."

"I do, she said, almost proudly.

"Well, then, tell us already," Nari whined. He sas normally very patient, but I could tell he was desperate for news of Vali. Like everyone else.

"So, for the past few weeks," she began, "Vali and I have been talking together with our thoughts." I gawked at her. "Yeah, except for a few weeks she hasn't been talking to me, I don't know why, but I talked to her today. It's like I can hear her voice in my mind." She was bouncing in her seat with excitement. "So she told me she was with Loki, in Asgard maybe, and that Loki is our dad!"

I stared at her. "I'm sorry, what was that? I misheard you."

"Loki is our dad," she said cheerfully, "He has just made a few bad decisions, but he's being like a dad to Vali."

Mara broke in quietly, "Yes, Loki is your father, but we weren't planning for you to find out like this."

I was shocked at her. I hadn't expected her to admit this. I also hadn't expected Hela to find out. "Yes," was all I could say.

"We're going to have to tell S.H.I.E L.D. about these new... developments," Mara said gently. I nodded. "If you will put the kids to bed, I'll set up an emergency meeting.

"So, are we going to Asgard to find Vali?" Nari asked eagerly.

"First of all, we're not sure she's even in Asgard. Secondly, you," I said, poking him in the nose, "are not going anywhere. You are too young to go on a raid with S.H.I.E.L.D., especially when Loki's involved. He's just too unpredictable."

《Vali's POV》

I lay on the roof of Loki's house, looking at the starry Asgardian sky. My gold Asgardian dress pooled around me, I heard a creak and shifted to look around. Loki had lay down on the roof next to me.

"How did you get up here?" he asked me.

"Same way you got up here," I responded, smirking.

He grimaced and said, "Touché."

We lay there for a few minutes, watching the moon rise.

"It's after ten. I think you should go to bed," he told me after a while.

"Okay," I said.

"Okay," he said back, "Good night, Vali."

"Good night," I responded, standing up, "Dad."

I turned, and walked away, jumping down off the roof onto the third floor patio.
