I quickly lifted my head up when he opened the bathroom door.

“You was fucking that nigga in D.C.?” He charged at me and got in my face.

“What? No.” I profusely shook my head. He was scarring me now. The vein in his forehead was highly visible.

“Then what the fuck happen? Cause me and you ain’t never had this problem? You never have less than two orgasms with me.”

I looked down.

“Look at me.” He took his index finger and lifted my chin. He was in kissing distance of my face, standing over me, with his arm rested on the headboard.

“What happen where your focus ain’t all on me? I know your body, and I know how you respond to me. And I hit that shit in all the right places, so I know I’m not the problem.”

I took a moment. He was breathing hard against my face. His nostrils flaring, the vein still visible.

“We were in the airport and he tried to kiss me but I immediately pulled away.”

He closed his eyes and I turned my attention to his now closed fist that was above my head on the headboard.

“What else happened?” He said with his eyes still closed.

“Nothing. That’s it.”

He opened his eyes.

“I may be young, but I’m not new to this shit. I know how niggas think. And they think the same no matter the fucking age. What I tell you?” He said in a slow stern tone, not yelling. “I said I know mutha-fuckas. And I know how they are when it come to women, but you ain’t wanna listen to me. You wanna play super save a mutha-fucka and ignore what I said.”

“If I ignored what you said, I wouldn’t have come home August. I respected your wishes baby."

He was still in my face.

“So you was thinking about this nigga while we was fucking?”

“No! It’s just because that happened I felt a little guilty, so my mind wasn’t all the way focused on you.”

“Don’t let no mutha-fucka take your focus off me. That goes sexually or otherwise, you hear me?”

“Yeah August.”

“Cause niggas and bitches are going to consistently try to destroy what we got. And we gotta be stronger than that shit.”

“I hear you.” Tears started to form in my eyes.

He wasn’t phased by the tears. He went over to the chair with his clothes and put them on.  “And I be damn if I let a mutha-fucka destroy the shit I built.”

“Where are you going?” I said sniffing and wiping my eyes.

“Don’t worry about it.”

“August don’t do nothing stupid. It’s not worth it.”

He ignored me and I heard the door slam, indicating he had left out.

TWO DAYS LATER

“He hasn’t called me in two days.” I took a sip of my drink.

Me and Tanya were outside in my pavilion.

“I can understand why.”

“What do you mean you understand why? I didn’t do anything.”

“Amber, you got to see it from his perspective. That hurt his pride. Imagine how you would feel if you were having sex with him and he couldn’t…ya know. Wouldn’t that make you feel unattractive? Like you aren’t doing something right? Like you can’t please him?”

I thought about it for a second.

“Yeah. You’re right.”

“He’s probably a little bit embarrassed too.”

“But he has no reason to be. He’s amazing in bed. He knows that. I tell him that all the time.”

“Still Amber, it’s a little bit hurtful. Especially if he was trying to please you. You have a good one girl, cause these men out here don’t care if you have one or not. All they care about is did they bust a nut. He obviously is not a selfish-lover, to take it so hard that you weren’t into him.”

“I was. I was just…” I shook my head in frustration.

“And why do you care so much about Nate anyway? He’s an asshole.”

“No he’s not. He’s really a great guy. You just have to know him.”

“People should’nt have to spend damn near a week with you to find out whether or not you’re an ass. That should come off automatically.”

“Leave him alone. Everything is not what it seems. He goes through a lot.”

“Oh you’re right. His chef didn’t get his food at the right tempature? His Phantom ran out of gas? Such a hard life.”

“Leave him alone Tanya!” I yelled.

She looked at me.

“Maybe August was right. Maybe you are feeling him.”

“I am not! Okay! I don’t want to put his personal business out there, but I’ve seen some things with him. And it’s…just give him a break okay. And sorry for yelling.”

She took a sip of her drink.

“How am I going to make this right with August?”

“You gotta do something he’s not expecting.”

“Like what?”

“You know any of his fantasies?”

“Oh my God.” I covered my eyes embarrassed.

“I’m serious Amber. That’s the only thing that’s going to fix this. Do something he doesn’t expect sexually to let him know, that you care just as much about pleasing him, as he tries to please you. Let out your inner freak girl.” Tanya stood up and did the Bobby Shmurda 'Shmoney dance.

I laughed, “You too old to be doing that.”

I stood up and did it with her.

"That's right gurl, get yo Aug back."

We bursted into laughter
