Halfway through, when both the quesadillas are on their other side and browning, Leeroy walks into the room. He rubs up against my legs and meows up at me as I begin to tell him what my own imagination made me see.
"I can never un-see them Leeroy!" He meows as I say his name. I tut and put the ready quesadillas onto a plate. I walk back over to the living room and plonk down on the sofa; I began eating and I text Niall asking where my mum is.
'Yo Niall, where the heck is my mum?'
'I have no clue, her and dad went out for lunch a couple hours ago' I huff and text back.
'Thanks, I will text her and see where on frickin Earth she is x'
'No problem x bye'
'Bye x' I switch to mine and Mum's text message thing.
'Mum, where are you?????' I wait and wait for about thirty seconds until I give up and start watching TLC on the TV. About two episodes of Cake Boss later, Mum texts back.
'Hey honey, sorry! Me and Harvey went for lunch then we went to the cinema and then we went shopping x should be back soon x isn't your date soon?' I look at the clock and realise it's already five thirty.
'Shite, yeah x talk to you after x'
'Language! x talk to you after x' I click off my phone, only then remembering if I should ask Liam if he is going to pick me up or not. I open up messenger once again and tap on mine and his conversation.
'Hey, you going to pick me up or shall I get a bus?' He texts back instantly.
'I'll pick you up x see you soon!'
'See ya x' I click off my phone yet again and double-step the stairs up to my room. I take out my plain black leggings and a long t-shirt that says 'Music is my life' and an awesome rock guitar underneath the text. I take out my American flag Converse and Converse socks and put them on as well. I walk over to the mirror and brush my hair. I hadn't washed it for at least two days and there is no time for a shower. I spray some dry shampoo over it so it looks half-decent and then I pull it up into a simple ponytail. No makeup, no worries is my motto. I hop downstairs to see a startled Leeroy standing there with wide eyes and tail up. I move over to the sofa and flop.
I check the time again; 5:49. I huff and decide to lie there until Liam came.
-
I hear a car pull up to our house and sit up so I can see through the window that looks out over the road in front of our house. Sure enough, Liam's parent's Audi was there. I get up, grab the house keys and my phone and open the door. I wave to Liam and he waves back. He gets out the car and leans against it. I close my door and make my way towards Liam.
"Hey," he smiles.
"Hey," I reply.
"Ready?" I nod and smile. I walk forward, trying to signal Liam that he is leaning against the passenger door.
"Um, Liam... That's the passenger seat."
"Oh! Sorry!" He springs up and quickly walks round to the other side.
"It's fine," I say as he is quickly walking away from me. I open the door and get into the car. The music playing surprises me a little. "Green Day? Thought you liked Ed Sheeran and that sort of stuff?"
"Liked, past tense," he says getting in, "I got bored of that style music so I changed to rock." I nod my head and hum in response. "Fair enough..." I say, shrugging my shoulders.
"You buckled in?" He asks, I make a small 'o' with my mouth as fumble to put my belt on. Liam chuckles lowly, obviously taking pleasure from my awkwardness.
