Yaz p.o.v
We were sat behind a rock covering our heads as lasers blasted past us. We had just landed on a planet with a name that I can't remember and as soon as we stepped off the Tardis we were being shot at. The doctor rushed us to get behind the rock.
"Bit rude shooting at visitors isn't it?" The doctor tired to joke, I was the only one who gave a small laugh.
"Don't think this is the time to joke right now doctor" Ryan said seriously.
"Your no fun, you lot" the doctor continued.
The shooting paused for a while and we all looked at the doctor not knowing what to do. I decided to take a peak over the top of the rock, and as I poked my head out, the doctor grabbed my waist and pulled me down, just as a laser blasted just missing my head.
My heart was beating so hard as I felt the burning of where the doctor still had her hands on my waist and I was enjoying it a lot.
When the doctor had pulled me down I ended up siting inbetween her legs and again I was enjoying it quite a bit.
"I wouldn't try that again Yaz" the doctor said in a stern tone.
"I won't, I promise" I replied.
"Good, cause we can't have a universe with no Yaz" the doctor said while looking at me with worry.
I could tell my whole face had heated up at the doctors kind words, we both stared deep into each other's eyes. I always get so lost in them.
A cough brought us out of staring. It was Ryan, I sent him a glare to let him know that he ruined the moment. He put his hands up as if to say he didn't do anything.
Graham spoke up "As much as I'd like to sit here all day being shot at doc, I would like to get away from them."
"Right okay, need a plan think, come on think, ah come on brain you got this" the doctor rambled.
Worried she was pushing herself to hard, I grabbed her hand, interlocked our fingers, and gave it a squeeze.
"It's okay doctor, just don't think about the distractions, then a plan will form" I whispered softly as I saw a smile spread across her face.
"Yaz you are brilliant!" The doctor exclaimed making me blush for about the 100th time today.
"Right team listen closely, I'm going to distract the guys shooting at us, and you three need to run to that building over there, everyone clear?" The doctor stated.
"Very clear" Graham said.
"Yep, clear" Ryan also agreed.
"Right get ready to go guys" the doctor said.
"Wait, you can't doctor, they'll just shoot at you and you'll die, then what will we do?" I said nearly crying, I really didn't want her to distract them and I was so scared she was going to die.
"Hey look at me Yaz" she said softly, as I refused to meet her gaze. She put both her hands on my cheeks and lifted my head to look at her.
"There are those beautiful eyes" she smiled, so did I.
"I got you guys into this mess and I am going to get you out of it safely, like I promised I would always protect you, okay?" She stroked a rogue tear that left my eye away.
"I just don't want to lose you"" I sobbed.
"And you won't, I promise" the doctor smiled at me and kissed my check, her lips were so soft, I wish it had been my lips.
"Okay boys, take good care of her" the doctor said as she gently pushed me towards Graham.
She gave me one last smile before she turned and stood up. I held my breath as the lasers were still shooting at her. She put her hands up, to tell the aliens she was unharmed.
The shooting stopped and one of the aliens came forward to speak to her but we were to far away to understand. The doctor put her hands down and gave us a thumbs up.
"Okay, the doc's given the signal let's go." Graham said starting to run while I stayed still.
"Come on Yaz, she'll be fine, let's go" Ryan tired to persuade me, I knew he was right but just seeing her standing there distracting the alien made me realise that I think I loved the doctor.
I noticed that Graham and Ryan were nearly at the building and told myself I had go go. Just as I was starting to leave, I ran straight into something hard, whatever it was, it grabbed my arms and twisted them round my back, just like I am trained to do as a police officer.
The alien spoke to me but I didn't hear it properly, so I screamed and kicked the alien and it let go of me, I heard the doctor shout my name.
"Yaz, we need to run these aliens aren't good at negotiating" the doctor panted.
Another alien had appeared in front of me and it had its gun and with no hesitation shot it straight at me.
The next couple of seconds happened in slow motion, I stood still with shock. The doctor rushed past me and dived in front of me taking the full hit of the laser, and fell to the ground with a groan.
"Doctor!" I shouted as tears fell down my face.
A loud serien was heard and all the aliens left. I ignored it and slumped next to the doctors side, grasping her hand in mine.
"They just needed a kill, that's why they were shooting at us." The doctor said in pain.
"You should have let me take the hit, now your hurt and it's all my fault." I said as the tears streamed down my face.
The doctor moved a shaky hand to rest on my cheek and stroked it gently.
"I will always protect you, no matter what" she said with a loving look in her eyes, which made me cry even more.
I decided I had to tell her now before it was too late, I smiled at her and she returned it.
"Doctor?"
"Yes, Yaz"
"I...I love you" I managed to get out. The doctor looked stunned but I saw a faint blush appear on her cheeks.
I couldn't stop myself any longer, so I hesitantly started leaning down allowing her to stop it if she wanted. Our lips were inches apart.
What happened next shocked me as the doctor was the one who closed the gap. Her lips melted against mine and they were so soft and amazing, it felt like a dream.
Before we could deepen the kiss, we heard shouting and the sound of the Tardis appearing behind us. The doctor broke the kiss, but our foreheads still remained connected.
"Doc are you okay?" Graham said panting.
"I'm bit hurt but the Tardis knew, boys will you run in there and she will throw some things at you. Can you bring them to me? They will all make me better." The doctor said her breath hitting my lips as we were still so close.
"Certainly doc" Graham replied as him and Ryan followed what the doctor said.
I didn't have time to react as the doctor closed the gap again and my heart felt like it was going to explode.
When we pulled away the doctor beamed at me and I returned it.
"100 points to Yaz, wait no actually 1000 points, your really in the lead now" the doctor winked at me, making me laugh.
Then her face turned serious as she spoke "Yasmin Khan, I love you" she said making me gasp. I've never been so happy.
"Could you help make me better when the boys come back, I don't think they'll be able to do it" the doctor said making me laugh.
"Sure" I replied giving her a quick peck on the lips, just because I can.
