Many years ago, a war began between the Watchdogs of Wallachia and the Sentinels of Damania. Caught in the crossfire was a small country named Laveria. In the small country was small villages sprinkled here and there, but in these villages, there were no humans, there was a different species, whilst similar in appearance, they were known as the Veteris, those who came before humans. They were an ancient species with a long history, and in one night, they were wiped out and cursed.
A large amount of Specters surrounded the villages, emitting a pale, green light as they began to chant words in the elder language, the language of the ancients. The villages erupted into bright, lavender flames, consuming anything in its way, and cursing those who dare defy it. Many were burnt to crisp, while the surviving were left infertile, stripped of their ability to procreate. It was the end of their kind as they knew it.
The specters vanished, faster than it took for them to arrive. Many centuries pass, and not one sign of the Veteris appeared, after all, they were quite easy to differentiate from humans, identifiable by their golden eyes and their pupils that were shaped like a cross.
Children were born who bore the mark of the beast, they were known as the Apostles Of Satan, these children were destined to cause the end of humanity as they knew it.
The bloodline of the Veteris was not doomed, a single Veteris by the name of Alistair Vistar broke the curse, but it was too late for the others, he was the only one who survived, as his life span was much higher than an average Veteris.
A child, by the name of Caesar Vistar was born. He bore both the mark of the beast, and the blood of the Veteris, his eyes were red and his pupils were an X, different from the Veteris. He was disowned at birth as the mother saw the mark of the beast on his chest. He was treated poorly by others. Many cursed him and chucked stones. He was many times found with animals rather than people, as they did not judge him for how he appeared. He wasn’t alone, but yet, he still felt lonely.
