^^the children's "home"
The day was 11 September, 2028. Six children watched in fear as their "father" picked up the bloody baby in his arms as his wife gave her last shuddering breath. The father set the baby down in the incubator, picking up his wife's dead body with a sinister grin.
"Thank you, dear beloved, for giving me these wonderful.... children."
Chanting, he opened a portal to the underworld, and tossed her limp body into it without a single care in the world. He grinned at the children chained on the wall, crying their eyes out, yet not making a sound.
"You all have gotten much smarter I see. Does everyone remember what Dad the last time someone spoke out of turn?"
They all nodded, or well, tried to. They did a pretty good job considering they all had their necks cuffed to the wall as well. Their "father" came over with six test tubes, collecting their tears. He waved at them tauntingly.
"Good work for today children. Off to your cells now."
He released the four-year-old girl first, who had fallen asleep from crying at the sight of her mother. Although his job was totally disgusting, he still managed to pick his only daughter up gently and place her in her cell. Without a fight, the other five children were put into their own separate cells. And that's when he turned to the baby.
"Welcome to your new life... Jacob."
Working quickly, the man used acid to carve into a metal plaque:
Jacob Sparrow Bloodwing
He grinned, replacing their mother's cell's plaque with the new baby's. Looking at the long line of metal plaques, he felt accomplished. But the children knew what came next as the man headed to the severely damaged, metal chest next to his work table.
