60 Seconds Left

Act 1- Happiness

Racing up the hill just in the lead of two other friends I reach the top huffing and puffing. "As always, the view from up here is great" I think to myself before seeing both my friends fall over before reaching the top guess I have to join them. I lay down with them and Lexy soon comes over after watching the race of the school yard. She leans over me looking down she says "what do you plan on doing in the future" I never like to think about plans or the future "I just don't think it should be decided at an early age, dreams and ambitions change y'know that" "I think you'll do great as a runner" I thought about being a runner but seeing all the athletes at the Olympics I don't think I would ever make the cut "eh maybe" I think out loud. "I want to be a firefighter!" Anyshi chimed in with "I wouldn't mind being a teacher" Nick answered.

Two years have passed since then. We've been friends since forever "nothing could ever break us apart" everyone thought but on that fateful day everything changed for the worst. It all started a few days prior when Nick told us he loved a girl in a different class. "Go on and tell her, there's no hurt in trying" Anyshi told him Lexy looked very concern about something "Lexy what do you think about this?" "Huh? Oh! Uhm, maybe just introduce yourself to her first" the trust is, is that Lexy really had a crush, I never got to figure out who though. "I'll take your advice Lexy thank you!" Nick later then ran off to find the girl of his dreams. The bell had rung for recess to start about 5 minutes ago so he had plenty of time to find her. "What's on your mind Lexy?" I ask her, she seems to have been acting more shy around me, we've been friends for years so I just didn't understand, why now? "Lexy?" "I-I... it's no-nothing, really" she said with a tender smile but I knew her too well to just sweep this under the rug so I'll address it at a later date. 

Walking down the hallway towards the school yard we see Nick has found his love bird, Lexy doesn't seem to enjoy looking at them so she excuses herself to the bathrooms. Nick realises he has been spotted and calls us over to meet the girl, her name is May and she has great black hair. Many people in our school have black or brown hair but because there isn't a rule against dying hair I bleached my blond a year ago to stand out more. I introduce myself and Anyshi to May and she's a really polite girl "I would like to have her in our friend group" Nick suggested "I wouldn't mind" Anyshi said "you could hang out with us if you'd like May we gather in class 8B because it's the class we are all in" I explain to her. Lexy decides to join us again looking a little pale, like she's seen a ghost.
