The Beginning

Roman sighed as he looked in the mirror, at his one yellow eye. He still couldn't believe that he had yet to get rid of him. Roman turned around slowly and studied his surroundings. He painfully took in the war-ridden world he now lived in. His thoughts were interrupted by a loud knock on the door. "Roman, cmon! We can't stay here all day! They'll find us!" Virgil called from outside the door. "I know! I'm coming!" Roman said frustrated. As he opened the door, Logan handed him his sword. "Thanks, buddy" Roman said in a calm voice. Virgil led the way outside to the underground base they had their meetings in every week. They would discuss where they would stay next, how many more people had been taken under Insecurity's control, and their attack plans. When the three walked in, they saw the familiar sight they always saw before a meeting. Remy, leaning back in his chair, sometimes asleep, like today, Picani, making the attack plans on his clip board, Talyn, helping Picani, and Thomas, talking with Joan. As Roman and Logan sat down, Virgil elbowed Remy's shoulder. Remy jolted awake and adjusted his sunglasses. Virgil proceeded to sit next to Talyn in his normal spot. "Ok, I thought of some good plans last night! They could work if carried out correctly, but what about if it's not? Mabye this plan isn't safe, mabye-" "Cut to the chase Picani!" Virgil cut Picani off, getting restless. "Ok ok, no need to shout." Picani replied. "So, the plan is for Roman and Virgil to sneak into Insecurity's base and act as a distraction for the rest of us, who will sneak past and attempt to get Patton back!" Roman nodded in agreement, liking the sound of charging in first. Virgil was reluctant, but agreed to do it. "Alright." Thomas said, getting up from his chair at the head of the table. "Let's go."
