"interscope records, how may i assist you?"
i sit up. i have been on hold for about an hour. "hello, um, my name is elio reynolds, i was wondering how i could, maybe, sell a song i have written?"
"ok, sir, are you trying to sell lyrics or an instrumental?"
"b-both? its, um, its a song. like, a full song." i try to say with the least annoyance possible.
theres a moment of silence before the woman says, "okay. do you have an artist in particular that you would like to sell the song to?"
"uh, yea." i look at the magazine in front of me and read the name plastered on one of the pages. "um, b-billie? billie eilish? she's, um, new i think."
"okay, sir, can you repeat your name, please?"
"elio. reynolds."
"okay, mister reynolds, what you're going to have to do is email billie's management team with the pitch."
i nodded.
