She grabbed onto each railing and pushed off, grabbing and pushing over and over as she ascended the 15 or so flights with ease.
The Jedi really did create a weapon out of me, she thought. If it weren't for the pain, I'd have been this powerful the entire time.
She burst out of the stairwell to find the hallway on fire. There was a hoard of Storm Troopers down the hall firing at a group of Rebels on the other end. They were dropping like flies.
"Oh hell no!" She shouted as she ran forward. Truthfully, Jolie had no clue of where her capabilities began and ended, but she figured she'd just have to wing it.
She crossed her arms together and saw the vague manifestation of energy in front of her like a shield. It took a lot of effort to not marvel at her newly formed protection, but she kept herself in the moment, regardless of her wonder.
She was able to access her memories of the training from the Empire and calculated trajectories, impacts, and ricochets of each blaster bolt. She was able to grab them out of the air and send them into the wall instead. As she did this with one hand she reached out with the other and ripped the blasters from each Trooper, sending them flying behind her to the Rebels.
I wish I could see the looks on their faces.
She briefly turned to see the progress of the fire. It was rapidly consuming the end of the hall that the Rebels were on. They shuffled forwards as they shot at the Troopers but were losing ground fast.
Jolie thought quickly and reached out with her hands, using the Force to grab the torsos of all the Troopers. She raised them in the air to clear a path. Wincing, she shouted,"Go!"
The Rebels, clearly confused, gratefully ran through.
"Jolie!"
It was the voice of Synyc.
"Synyc! What's happening?!"
Synyc ran over from some small, inconspicuous hallway off to the side and closed the door. "We don't know, but the Empire found us somehow," he looked over his shoulder and narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"
"Do you honestly want to debate this now?" Jolie asked with a cold, hard stare. "Let's move before we all die."
Synyc glared and gestured for her to go. "Ladies first."
Jolie ignored his remark and ran off, purposefully running a bit faster out of spite.
"Off to the right, there's an evac-ship waiting for us!" Synyc shouted from behind her above the commotion.
Jolie nodded and hung a right, bursting into what she thought would be the main hangar bay. She expected to see people bustling around to escape. However, she found herself in front of one tiny ship. It could fit 4 people by her estimate.
"What is this?" Jolie asked as she stopped and turned to face Synyc, suspicion growing in her voice.
"Get in," Synyc said.
"I don't have time for traitors." There was a ferocity to his voice that Jolie had never guessed existed. He was honestly scaring her, and it took a lot to scare Jolie.
I can't pick a fight. That'll make this worse.
She threw her hands up in frustration and humored him. Her boots clanked against the ramp as she boarded. "Just for the record you look like an moron!" she shouted dryly.
The ship fired up and they took off. Jolie was strapped in a seat on one side and Synyc was on the other. His gaze did not waver in the slightest. Jolie also noted the blaster on his belt.
