Hey! Chapter Two. To the right is a picture of Jamie. Isn't his smile flippin' adorable? He's pretty smiley in this chapter. I still haven't found the right Mad yet, though. So be happy with more Jamie pics! Lol.

Please vote for this chapter! It'll make me write faster, haha. Well, encourage me, anyway.

The next few weeks passed without much happening. Dad went to work as usual, I went to school as usual. See? Spring was halfway through, and I was ready for the Summer. This Summer, me and Em would graduate. We both planned on going to the local university. It was one county over, and was fairly big. Neither of us wanted to branch too far off. I didn't want to leave Dad, and Em didn't want to leave me.

We laid out on Em's deck. It was the weekend, and Emily's parents would be gone the entire time, so we were taking full advantage of the pool. We wore our skimpiest bikinis to tan in while they were gone. I never get super tan, but Emily does.

"So...?" Em muttered, face down on a towel, her head propped onto her folded arms. "Anything new happen with Mr. Hotness?"

I sighed. "Nope. Nothing new. I mean, I see him around when I have to stop by Dad's job, or when Julie invites me over," I shrugged. "But nothing ever happens. We might say 'hi', or he'll smile and make small talk. Anything I know about him is from other people. Dad, Julie, Rob." I sighed heavily. "I think I obsess over every little encounter with him," I admitted.

Glancing over at Em, I saw her nodding in complete agreement. "You totally do." My jaw dropped open. I put my hand into the pool, splashing a handful of water on her head. "What?! I wasn't supposed to agree? You do!" She laughed, shaking the water from her head. "You call me up every time you lay eyes on the man, to tell me what? That he smiled? That he waved at you, or looked in your general direction? 'Oh, hey Em, guess what? Mr. Biceps just sneezed near me. I think I'm swooning in delight!" she imitated, laughing riotously.

"Oh, screw you, Em!" I growled. I knew she was picking, but I didn't sound that stupid. Did I?

Emily rolled over on her towel, letting her front slowly bake. "I'm just kidding, Mads. I know, the guy is a total hottie. I can't blame you one bit. And besides, you're in like. That's what people in like do."

"Well," I started, a lot calmer, "I'm not so sure I'm in like, as much as I'm in stalker mode." I threw up my hands, sitting up next to Em. It was so frustrating! "I want to know everything about him! I want to talk to him constantly, and have to restrain myself from attacking his cute ass! I feel like I'm acting like Ashley and her slutty cheerleader-groupies for the football players. I'm crazy about him! And yet, every time I'm near him, I'm pretty sure I turn retarded. Like, completely brain dead." I put my face in my hands.

"There, there, my poor little retarded lovebird. It's all gonna be alright," Em said casually. She pays no attention to my dramatics, which is probably for the best. She patted me on the head. "Quit being a drama queen. All girl's obsess over boys. If they don't, well, they're just weird." She thumped me on the forehead. "Remember that time I tried to talk my Uncle Rick, the cop, into tracking Kurt's license plate? Man, I was in deep over Kurt."

I looked up at her, propping my chin on my hand and pouting. "Maddy, Maddy, Maddy. It's been FOREVER since you liked a guy! The last time was Joel. And that was like, what, tenth grade? You're just super selective. I get it." I nodded. I was very picky about the guys I liked. I had standards about how a guy treated a woman, maturity, intelligence, and if he could make me laugh.
