Chapter One- Not to be

Long time ago in a galaxy far far away. There was in the time of the old republic, the great Jedi order in the temple of coruscant. The order was strict and orderly but their rules seemed to work.

It was in this time during the height of the Jedi's zenith that there was a padawan Of a great and talented master. Not unlike Yoda or Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan, Master Taedo did all he could to prepare his padawan for the trials. Some did move up but others were to re-try until they ran out of re-tests. This padawan would not make the former group. Her name was Geneva Parthenay.

Geneva Parthenay did not pass the first trial. She would study and review everything, even meditate under the force tree but for whatever reason, something led to a fail. Finally, the Jedi council decided that she had enough tries to become a Jedi Knight and she was to be sent to serve the order another way. While they deliberated as to where she would go, they asked Geneva to go into the courtyard.

Poor Geneva was crushed. Her heart shattered into a million pieces. She didn't even make it halfway there before she broke into tears. Her only dream would never come true. When she got there, she sunk to her knees before the force tree as if to plead to it.

"I don't know what to do." She said to the tree. She sat down to meditate and closed her eyes trying to focus despite the tears. Suddenly a voice emerged saying "have faith in the force. What you're asked to do, perform best you can and work hard. You'll will see your purpose "

It was hard for her to believe anything she was hearing. Then again, she was currently inconsolable. So nothing she heard would make her feel better. At least not at that moment. Just as she opened her eyes, she turned around and saw her master.

Master Taedo had the look of regret and sorrow in his eyes. "I'm sorry I failed you" Geneva replied. "No, Geneva. It is I who failed YOU. It was my responsibility to make sure that you got to live your dream of being a Jedi Knight. I should have trained you better. I tried to argue another trial session for you but the Jedi council will not allow it. You are to be sent to the Jedi archives. Be patient " was all he said before he walked away.
