Helloooo :) Thought  I would introduce myself. I'm Tara. I'm not new to wattpad, I have another account that I haven't updated in a while. All of my stories on that account need to be rewritten, so I just thought  I would start fresh.

These chapters are kind of long, just a fair warning.

I hope you guys like my new story! I've been working on it for a while now, and finally decided to upload the chapters that I have finished!

Also, the title isn't official, it is in the works. As well as the cover.

Alright, I guess I'll let you get to reading! Enjoy!

"Evelyn Andrea Carter, I thought I asked you to load the dishwasher?" my dad shouted from the top of the stairs. He sounded mildly upset, but I had homework to do. I've got my priorities.

My dad is my best friend. I love him to death, he has always been there for me. But he does get on my nerves sometimes. He knows how important my school work is to me. He's like this big kid, he's always kidding around, being the big goofball he is. Very seldom is he strict.

"Yeah, dad, I'm working on my calculus homework! I promise I'll finish my chores when I get done." I called up the stairs. He sent me a grunt of approval before turning and strolling down the hall. I returned to my desk to complete my assignment. After what seemed like a hundred more questions about algorithms and imaginary numbers, I closed my calculus book, shoved the answers in my folder, and returned them to my book bag. Trudging up the stairs, I let out a sigh. The dishwasher was already loaded and running when I got to the kitchen.

"I just went ahead and did that for you, pumpkin. Could you let Copper in?"

"Sure, dad. You know, I'm not going to learn any discipline if you keep doing my chores for me." I chuckled. He just rolled his eyes with a smirk and continued filing bank statements. I jogged to the back door, hollering for Copper to come inside. Copper is our golden retriever puppy. We rescued him from the shelter a few weeks ago. He was the only survivor of a six puppy litter, and his mother died during the delivery. He was born very small, and at 6 months old, he is still very petite. He just isn't gaining weight very fast, I guess. He eats a lot, though. Maybe he has a fast metabolism.

After letting Copper inside and filling his food and water bowls, I grabbed a snack and headed back down to my room to get ready for bed. Tossing the pack of pretzels on my bed, I took a few steps toward my dresser. I drew out a pair of silky pajama shorts and a blue crop top. I slipped them on and flopped down on my bed. My phone rang.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Ev. We need to talk. Can I come over?" my friend Tabitha said.

"I guess. Why don't you just stay over and I'll take you to school in the morning?"

"Sure, I'll be there in 20."

I tapped the end call button. I sent my dad a quick message to let him know Tabitha would be coming over, and I clicked on the TV. I flipped through Netflix for a few minutes before I clicked play on a series called Dragon Prince. It looked okay, so why not. I hopped off the bed to throw away my now empty pretzel bag, picking out a few different shades of nail polish on my way back over. I went to work painting my toenails a light shade of blue. I was just finishing up when Tabitha skipped down the stairs. Her long black hair swung behind her in a high ponytail. Her heels clicked on the basement floor as she approached me. She plopped down next to me on the bed.

"So, we need to talk about prom, lady." she said with a sly smirk. She knew I didn't want to go. But she was going to do everything in her power to get me to go with her. And by with her, I mean she is trying to set me up with one of her boyfriends single buddies. I just really don't like any of those guys. They're all super... douchey.
